10.PE can be the class that you fear the most.It holds a variety of activities for different types of students.You have those who think they are too cool to participate,those who don't do anything,and there's always that one kid who fakes numerous (无数的) notes so he can be excused from class.
Throughout my years of PE,I learned some easy tricks to survive this terrible nightmare.For example,I hate dodgeball (躲避球).Since my PE teacher gives points for participation,I would mostly decide to kick or try to catch the ball when he's looking in my direction.Otherwise,you would find me in the back,hiding behind a group of students.This method works for any sport-just blend in (加入) with a group of students who regularly participate.You know what they say:Fake it till you make it.
When it's time for those terrible exercise tests,I do my best because I don't want to end up getting a bad grade,especially in PE.I motivate (激励) myself during these tests by telling myself that exercise is good for me.Since I don't work out outside of school,it's basically the only effort I make to keep fit.
Usually gym class is about 40minutes long.I've learned that no one in this class really pays attention to what others are doing.If you get hit in the face with a ball,just laugh it off.People will forget about it once class is over,and I'm sure there will be other news out there that'll draw the attention away from you.
You have to be brave,even if the PE uniforms are the most disgusting pieces of clothing that have ever touched your body.Find yourself a group of students that you can easily become friends with.They could motivate you to do better.Also,remember that you're taking this class for the sake of (为了) your grades.So try,or act like you are trying.

63.What was the author's main purpose in writing the article?B
A.To state the importance of going to PE class.
B.To share with the reader the methods she uses to survive PE class.
C.To share some of her terrible experiences in PE class.
D.To tell the reader how she motivates herself to participate in PE class.
64.When dodgeball is played in PE class,the author is likely toC.
A.make up an excuse and skip the class
B.force herself to practice as often as she can
C.hide and avoid catching the teacher's attention
D.kick or try to catch the ball in order to make herself noticed
65.What can be concluded from the article?C
A.The more you take part in PE class,the more you will enjoy sports.
B.Those who get hit in the face with a ball in PE class won't get any attention.
C.Even though she doesn't like PE much,the author still motivates herself to do better.
D.Since she doesn't work out regularly,the author often does poorly in exercise tests.

Throughout my years of PE,I learned some easy tricks to survive this terrible nightmare"可知,作者要介绍如何安全度过体育课的方法.故选B.
64.答案C.细节理解题.根据第二段"Since my PE teacher gives points for participation,I would mostly decide to kick or try to catch the ball when he's looking in my direction.Otherwise, you would find me in the back, hiding behind a group of students."可知,作者有两种方法:老师看着的时候,去接球,否则就躲到人群后面去,避免老师看到.故选C.
65.答案C.推理判断题.根据第三段"When it's time for those terrible exercise tests,I do my best because I don't want to end up getting a bad grade, especially in PE.I motivate (激励) myself during these tests by telling myself that exercise is good for me"和最后一段"Also, remember that you're taking this class for the sake of (为了) your grades. So try,or act like you are trying."

19.Schools are finding many ways to deal with teacher shortages as the school year is coming.But what really needs to be done to fix this annual problem,says The New York Times'Frank Bruni,is to give the teaching profession a reboot.Teaching has become one of the least popular profes-sions.When the economy improves,people turn their attention elsewhere,to professions that promise more money, more independence,or more respect.
With starting salaries for teachers hardly reaching¥30,000per year,any student graduation from college with student debts is going to turn to professions that can promise more money.The av-erage teacher is struggling to provide for families and keep up with financial plans.
As for independence, the political battles over education, along with the lasting discussion on what's the best education,have left many teachers feeling like punching bags(攻击目标).Policy-makers don't know what's actually occurring inside the classroom,and make legislation(法规)without considering teachers'opinions.Also,licensing requirement differences across states make it difficult for teachers to find jobs in other states.
Bruni says the first step in fixing the mess has to start with adding the respect that hard-work-ing educators need and deserve."To do this is to make becoming a teacher more attractive."Bruni said, and mentioned Finland, where teachers are highly respected because entering the profession needs strict training.
The development and prosperity(繁荣)of our nation depend on teaching no less than on Wall Street's plans or Silicon Valley's innovations(革新).So let's make the classroom.destination as exciting and meaningful as any other.

It was a fearless mother's love that made Lisa forget what she faced. She took up an old hatchet (斧头)from the ground and struck the snake with all her strength.

One...two... With the hatchet, Lisa hit the snake again and again, but she felt as if she were striking a mass of solid(坚固的) rubber. The little boy's voice and breath were getting weaker and weaker. Lisa's heart was broken and she nearly went mad.

Suddenly Lisa put aside the hatchet and threw herself on to the snake, opened her mouth and bit into its back, as if tearing a tough steak(牛排). Lisa was really mad.

A small piece of flesh was bitten off. Lisa picked up the hatchet again and hit at the wound in the snake's back madly and savagely.
