5.A Google-developed supercomputer has beaten a South Korean Go(围棋)grandmaster again,taking a commanding 2-0lead in a five-game series that has become an amazing global debut(首演)for a new style of artificial intelligence (AI).
After shocking the world by defeating Lee Se-dol-one of the greatest modem players of the ancient board game 一 in their opening match on Wednesday,the AlphaGo computer proved it was no luck with another victory after a tiring four-and-a-half-hour meeting.
"I am quite speechless,"Mr.Lee said after the match,adding he had found"no weakness"in AlphaGo's performance."I admit it was a very clear loss on my part.AlphaGo played a near perfect game today…I will try my best so that I will win at least one game."
The grandmaster had earlier predicted that he would beat the supercomputer by a"landslide".
The 33-year-old must win all three remaining matches to win the series that has a cash prize of $US 1million.
AlphaGo's creators have described Go as the"Mt Everest"of AI,mentioning the complexity of the game, which requires a degree of creativity and intuition(直觉)to defeat an opponent(对手)•
The most famous AI victory came in 1997,when the IBM-developed supercomputer Deep Blue beat Garry Kasparov,the then-world class chess champion,in its second attempt.
But a true mastery of Go,which has more possible move arrangements than there are atoms in the universe, had long been considered the unshared field of humans 一 until now.
AlphaGo first rose to fame with a 5-0defeating European champion Fan Hui last October,but it had been expected to struggle against 33-ycar-old Mr.Lee,who has topped the world rankings for most of the past decade.
The computer uses two sets of"deep neutral networks"that allow it to calculate data in a more human-like fashion 一 dropping millions of potential moves that human players would know were senseless.It also employs algorithms(运算法则)that allow it to learn and improve from match play experience.
28.In how many games has AlfaGo beaten Lee Se-dol up to now according to the news report?B
A.One.
B.Two.
C.Three.
D.Five
29.What result did Lee Se-dol expect himself of before the game series?D
A clear loss.
B.complete failure.
C.A lucky victory.
D.A complete victory.
30.How did Lee Se-dol feel about Afago'sl performance?A
A.Surprised.
B.Envious.
C.Hopeless.
D.Regretful
31.Which of the following is the most important to the victory of AlfaGo?C
A.Match play experience.
B.Complexity,creativity and intuition.
C.Deep neutral networks and algorithms.
D.Potential moves and human-like fashion.

根据第二段"the AlphaGo computer proved it was no luck with another victory after a tiring four-and-a-half-hour meeting"可知AlfaGo击败Lee Se dol两次;故选B.
29.D. AlphaGo played a near perfect game today…I will try my best so that I will win at least one game;可知Lee Se dol希望自己在游戏系列获得彻底的胜利;故选D.
30.A. I am quite speechless,"Mr.Lee said after the match,adding he had found"no weakness"in AlphaGo's performance"可知Lee Se dol对AlphaGo的表现是十分惊讶的;故选A.
31.C. The computer uses two sets of"deep neutral networks"that allow it to calculate data in a more human-like fashion"可知深中立网络和算法是AlfaGo的胜利最重要的原因;故选C.

15.Rain and cold weather this summer saw honey yields from hives(巢)fall by almost three-quarters,the British Beekeepers Association(BBKA)said today.The average crop per hive was down 72% compared to last year,with just 3.6kg (81b) of honey produced compared to an annual average,the annual honey survey by the BBKA revealed.
The survey of 2,712beekeepers in England,Northern Ireland and Wales found that 88% said this summer's bad weather caused the descent in honey yields.The bad weather made it difficult for bees to excrete(排泄),which led to disease easily,and the bad weather also increased the risk of keeping bees for heavy rain caused the places which bees regularly visited to meet natural disasters.The bad weather also influenced the plants flowering which increased the cost of keeping bees.The BBKA issued a midsummer warning to feed bees if necessary to avoid dying from hunger.But in London,which recorded the worst results with just 2.5kg (5.61b)of honey harvested on average,beekeeping experts said that in addition to the bad weather there was a lack of food for bees in the city.
Angela Woods,secretary of the London Beekeepers Association,said,"Rather than putting beehives on office roofs,we encourage companies in London that want to help to look at different ways of supporting bees and beekeepers.We need more food for the bees and better-educated beekeepers."
Elsewhere,the weather was the main problem.Peter Hutton,a beekeeper in Tunbridge Wells,Kent,said,"It has been the most difficult year I have known in my 53years of beekeeping.Bad weather in spring prevented bees in many areas from collecting nectar(花蜜)from early-flowering crops such as oilseed rape(油菜),and the rain continued in many places throughout June and July,preventing honeybees from searching for food on later crops."
The BBKA warned that as well as reducing the honey harvest,the bad weather is likely to have a longer-term influence as it will have affected the normal process of breeding for the queens,which mate(交配)on the wing on fine,still summer days.As a result they may have mated poorly and be unable to produce enough new babies to see groups through the winter.
