Smart phone stress£º Are you a victim of "always on" cul?ture?

You're on holiday but secretly check your work e-mails the moment you wake up. You get anxious if there's no Wi-Fi in the hotel or mobile phone signal up the mountain. 5 And you secretly worry things will go wrong at work if you're not there. These are the typical signs of "always on" stress caused by smartphone addiction.

Work-life balance

Pittsburgh-based developer Kevin Holesh developed an app named Moment to monitor his usage of his phone. The app enables users to see how much time they're spending on the device and set up warnings if self-controlled usage limits are offended. 6 "Some time on your phone, some time off it, enjoying your loving family and friends around you."

"Always stressed"

7 You're not giving your body time to recover, so you're always stressed. And the more tired and stressed we get, the more mistakes we make. 8 The fact that we can stay connected to the workplace wherever we are in the world is feeding deep-rooted insecurities.

Slowdown in decision

We now consume media for more hours than we sleep. 9  It actually makes it more difficult to make decisions and many are becoming less productive because they're flooded by it all and feel they can never escape the office.

A.Moment's goal is to promote balance in your life.

B.You get excited if you receive a text message or an e-mail

from a friend.

C.This is leading to a sort of slowdown in decision and it is creating more stress in the workplace.

D.The negative impact of "always on" culture is that your mind is never resting.

E.Physical and mental health therefore can suffer.

F. Mobile phone companies argue that mobile connectivity is beneficial.

G. You are nervous if your phone is getting low on power.

Few politicians have been as respected in life or honoured in death as former South African President Nelson Mandela. Since the anti-apartheid (·´¶ÔÖÖ×å¸ôÀë)hero and South Africa's first black president died at 95 in his Johannesburg home on Dec. 5£¬ people around the world, no matter how different their backgrounds and political beliefs are, have been memorializing him in different languages and in different ways.

Mandela was not perfect, and the country he leaves behind still faces many problems. But despite his short?comings ,he leaves the world a heritage to treasure, said a Beijing News editorial on Saturday.

At one time,South Africawas the crudest corner of the world, having serious apartheid. At that time black and white people's living an equal life in the coun?try was an unachievable dream. Both the introduction of democracy(ÃñÖ÷)and the avoidance of what would have in all likelihood been Africa's bloodiest civil war were regarded as missions impossible.

It was Mandela who led South Africans to put an end to apartheid, realize social harmony and build a dream nation. There may still be disagreements from time to time, but people seek to resolve their problems and differences through civilized means.

This is the most valuable heritage of Mandela, who endured 27 years of hardships in prison and walked out with new reflections and thoughts with which to guide all races to own their equal rights and interests. His perseverance and tolerance won him supporters both at home and abroad and moved even his enemies.

The reason why South Africa has realized a stable change and avoided hatred and killing between different races is the establishment of a foundation of mutual trust and recognition of the need for social order, rhe co-existence of different human races under the principle of equality and their resorting to peaceful, democratic and legal means to resolve differences are part of Mandela's memorable contribution.

Since 1999, Mandela lived a quiet and retired life. He resigned at the peak of his political life and avoided repeating the mistakes of many political figures of his time. He performed a politician's mission in an almost perfect way.

Long long ago, a circle missed one piece of its own. The circle wanted to be whole, so it went around looking for its 5 piece. But because it was 6 and therefore could roll only very slowly, it 7 the flow?ers along the way. It 8 with the worms. It enjoyed the sunshine. It found lots of different pieces, but 9 of them fitted. So it left them all by the side of the road and 10 searching. Then one day the circle found a piece that fitted 11 .It incorporated (ºÏ²¢)the missing piece into itself and began to roll.      12     it was a per?feet circle, it could roll very fast,     13     fast to notice the flowers or talk to the worms. After it realized how different the world seemed when it rolled so quickly, it 14    £¬ left its found piece by the side of the road and rolled slowly away.

The 15 of the story, I suggest, is that in some strange 16 we are more whole when we are missing something. The man who has 17 is in some ways a poor man. He will never know what it 18 like to nourish his soul with the dream of something 19 . When we accept that 20 is part of being human and when we can continue rolling 21 life and appreciate it, we will have 22 a wholeness that others can only-desire, which, I believe, is 23 God asks of us¨Dnot "Be perfect", not "Don't even make a mistake", 24 "Be whole".
