¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ The Lincoln Memorial

The Lincoln Memorial is a remarkable place of interest in Washington D. C., the capital of the USA. It stands just opposite to the Monument to George Washington. The huge building is surrounded with forty stone columns. Wide stairs lead up to the entrance, from which a huge statue of Lincoln can be seen being seated in a chair in the center part which is open to the front of the Memorial. The Memorial is divided into three parts by two rows of columns. On the walls of the rooms on both the left and right are engraved two of Lincoln's famous speeches.
