2D

3B

4D

1细节理解题 根据第二段because it explores basic yet important themes likeall of which are still relevant to young audiences today.

3细节理解题 根据倒数第二段的born with silver spoons in their mouths含着银勺子出生的可知,讲的是富二代,而不是C的普通女孩。capture the interest of both teenagers and adults. the difficulties upper-class adolescents experience上等阶层青少年的困难不是D 中的upper-class people。 The show’s fashion and mature subject matter allowed it to capture the interest of both teenagers and adults.

Why are they still fascinating? It remains to be found out.

Mr. Black was the manager of a hotel in Atlanta. One weekend all of the hotels were full because of a large business meeting being held in the city. On Sunday night, three men came into Mr. Black’s hotel and asked for rooms. Mr. Black told them that there were no more rooms available. The men didn’t know what to do because they had no place to stay in.

Mr. Black wanted to help them. He remembered that there was an empty room at the far end of the first floor — Room 112. It was a very small room, and had rarely been used as a guest room before. So, he asked the three men if they would mind sharing that small room. They replied that they would be very satisfied so long as there was a room for them to stay in for the night.

Mr. Black then told them that the room would cost them $ 30 in total. On hearing this, each of the three men gave Mr. Black $ 10 before they left for their room.

However, Mr. Black soon began to think that $ 30 was really too much for that small room. He called his assistant over and said, “Here is $ 5. Give it back to the three men in Room 112. Each of them paid me $10. That’s too much.”

The assistant took the money. While he was on the way to that small room, he thought, “How can three men divide $ 5? I’ll give each of them only $ 1 and keep the $ 2 left to myself. After all, Mr. Black will never know anything about it.” So, the assistant returned only $1 to each of the three men.

When my friend put out the idea of homeschooling to her parents, the first reaction they gave was, “You are cutting the child off the world.” Did the child really get cut off or did the child socialize better?

The moment we hear of homeschooling, we think the child will have no opportunities to interact with peers. However, in my friend’s opinion, we forget that when attending a regular school, the child is not into socializing all the while. The child is confined to so many other activities. Studies take a major role in a child’s life. The child hardly has the time to interact at school.

The child might be meeting and studying along with many peers; however, how many kids interact with all the kids in a class? But in homeschooling system, as my friend mentioned, the kid has all the time and can plan his day accordingly. During the day the child studies just like other school-going kids but with no burden of homework and project work, the child has so much free time in the evening as to effectively interact and play with peers. The quality time the child spends in education is really impressive.

Homeschooled kids have the opportunity to socialize more often as they have a lot of time in their hands. They can also make socializing a regular habit. Just as my friend said, her child goes to a neighboring park almost every day and has a set of friends who go there daily. Other children get back home to finish off homework and project work whereas her child who is already through with studies gets the opportunity to spend time with family members.

When I heard this, I really felt how lucky the child was. Definitely the child had a better opportunity to socialize when compares with my kids. However, I might not consider homeschooling for my kid, as I am so used to the traditional schooling system and feel regular schooling the safest bet.

4According to the author what is the biggest advantage of homeschooling children?

(3) Try to solve the problem. After you are calm and you have support from adults and friends, it’s time to get down to business. 4 even if you can’t solve it all, you can solve a piece of it.

(4) Be positive. Most stress is temporary(暂时的). Remember stress does go away, especially when you figure out the problem and start working on solving it.

Edda’s home is in Asgard, “a land full of magic and adventure.” But Edda, the littlest Valkyrie, doesn’t have quite enough to do, until her father flies her “all the way to Earth for the first day of school.”
