Who do you admire most in your mind? When teachers ask this question,I find it5s a difficult question for me to answer! In my mind,a lot of people gave me a deep impression. I love sports, especially football. David Beckham is my idol (偶像) . He is handsome, and his football skills are good, too. But what gives me deep impression is his strong character. In 1998,he was in a sorrowful atmosphere;because of his unnecessary action,England lost game to Argentina in Football World Cup. During four years,he was abused (羞辱) by all English. In 2002 Football World Cup,they met the same team “Argentina”. In this match,he shot the only goal. At last, they won the game.    A large part of China experienced larger amounts of haze (雾霾) than usual this January and the air was badly polluted. The distance one could see was shorter than 1,000 meters in Beijing,Tianjin, and the provinces of Hebei,Henan,Shandong and Anhui. In some areas,it was down to 200 meters.

People usually set off firecrackers (爆竹) to celebrate the Spring Festival. But because of the haze, this year seemed very quiet. It was really different. A man called Zhang Wei said that his friends and he hadn’t set off a single firecracker.

“We all suffered from last month's haze. If we don't call an end to the firecrackers, the environment will get worse and worse during the holiday ,” said Zhang Wei. He called on more people to set off fewer firecrackers during this year's Spring Festival holiday by putting up a notice in his neighborhood.

More Chinese looked forward to celebrating the holiday in a greener way. They decided not to set off firecrackers. They also decided not to waste food. They said that the new celebrations sounded fashionable.

To clean the sky, more than ten provinces including Guangdong,Zhejiang and Jiangsu have started to use national 4 standard (标准) ,which is expected to reduce (减少) vehicle emission (车辆排放) by 30% to 50%. Beijing even has started to use the stricter national 5 standard.

We still have a lot to do to improve the air quality. For example, using public transportation as much as possible is not a hard thing for us to do,but it matters a lot.[2013 广西贵港]

There is a fish called the black spot angelfish, which can change from female (雌性) to male (雄性) . No,it cannot do it by simply wishing to become male. The change happens for a specific reason.

The angelfish live in groups. And each group has one male fish, which is blue in color, and four female fish, which are yellow in color.

The male angelfish is the strongest and largest member of the group. He is the one who protects and looks after the females and acts like their “safety guard”. When the male dies, the group needs a “safety guard”. This is when the largest female fish in the group begins to change its appearance.

She begins to grow larger in size. After a week, she starts changing color, from yellow to blue. Slowly? the changes take place. She begins behaving like a male. Two weeks later, black spots appear on her body. This shows that the change is complete. She is now completely male!
