All parents wish their children, especially senior high students, can go to top universities and have a bright future£®So they always expects their children to make fully use of their time to study£®They don¡¯t allow them watch TV, play computer games or go out to play with their friends£®Some students just complained that their parents are only concerned about their grades and not their other need£®

To my opinion, how our parents are doing is out of nothing but the love£®The most important thing, I think, is that they should learn to communicate with our parents, telling them that we¡¯ll never let them down and will work harder to earn trust and respect from them£®

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Florida is celebrating a big anniversary this year. Five hundred years ago, on April 2, 1513, Spanish explorer Juan Ponce arrived on the east coast of what is now Florida. Native Americans had been living there for centuries, but Ponce was the first European to set foot in what would become the United States.

According to legend, Ponce may have landed in Florida by mistake. He is said to have been looking for an island called Bimini and its Fountain(ÅçȪ) of Youth. The magical fountain could supposedly make old people young again. Instead, Ponce landed on Florida and claimed it for Spain. He named it La Florida, or ¡°flowery place¡±.

Ponce explored more of Florida¡¯s coasts over the next few months. He later returned to Spain but went back to Florida in 1521 to attempt to set up a colony. However, native Americans attacked him and his friends, and Ponce was killed. It wasn¡¯t until 1565 that Spain set up a successful colony at St. Augustine on Florida¡¯s east coast. It is the oldest European settlement in the U.S.

Florida didn¡¯t belong to the U.S. until Spain lost control. It was admitted to the U.S. as the 27th state in 1845.

Today, Florida has one of the fastest-growing populations of any state. More than 19 million people call it home.

Kids¡¯ health: four steps for fighting stress

Everybody gets stressed from time to time. ¡¾1¡¿ some ways of dealing with stress--- like screaming or hitting someone--- don¡¯t solve much. But other ways, like talking to someone you trust, can lead you to solving your problem or at least feeling better.

Try taking these four steps the next time you are stressed:

(1) get support. When you need help, reach out to the people who care about you. Talk to a trusted adult, such as a parent or other relatives. ¡¾2¡¿ they might have had similar problems, such as dealing with a test, or the death of a beloved pet.

(2) Don¡¯t take it out on yourself. Sometimes when kids are stressed and upset they take it out on themselves. Oh , dear, that¡¯s not a good idea. Remember that there are always people to help you. Don¡¯t take it out on yourself. ¡¾3¡¿ -

(3) Try to solve the problem. After you are calm and you have support from adults and friends, it¡¯s time to get down to business. ¡¾4¡¿ even if you can¡¯t solve it all, you can solve a piece of it.

(4) Be positive. Most stress is temporary£¨ÔÝʱµÄ£©. Remember stress does go away, especially when you figure out the problem and start working on solving it.

These steps aren¡¯t magic, but they do work.. and if you can stay positive as you make your way through a tough time, you¡¯ll help yourself feel better even faster. ¡¾5¡¿

A. Ask for a helping hand to get you through the tough situation.

B. Notice your friends¡¯ feelings and find a way to help them.

C. Different people feel stress in different ways.

D. Ah, it feels so good when the stress is gone.

E. You need to figure out what the problem is.

F. And don¡¯t forget about your friends.

G. Then, find a way to calm down.

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿To get to the tennis court, Conner Stroud has to push his wheelchair there.

The 15-yea-old from North Carolina, US was born without legs. But when he picks up his racquet(ÇòÅÄ) and begins to hit a ball, you quickly see that the young man just want to win.

Stroud began playing tennis at age 5 at the small tennis club his parents own. For years, he played against able-bodied players by putting rubber on the stumps (²ÐÓಿ·Ö) of his legs. Though he was a foot (30.48cm) or two shorter than many of the players he played against, he won a number of matches. He became well-known enough that he got to meet Rafael Nadal, his favorite player at the US Open in 2013.

¡°The most important thing is that he¡¯s happy,¡± Nadal told reports about Stroud after that 15-minute meeting. ¡°He¡¯s playing tennis... That¡¯s a great example of being happy even if life doesn¡¯t give you everything.¡±

Stroud started playing wheelchair tennis at 13 and now he is No 1 in the US.

Earlier this summer, he played for the US in the world¡¯s biggest junior wheelchair team tennis event --- the World Team Cup. He played six matches and won five of them as the US won the cup for the first time since 2000.

¡°He is a polite boy , but he will rip£¨Ëº³¶£©your heart out trying to beat you,¡± Jason Harnett, a United States Tennis Association coach, said of Stroud. ¡°You see that attitude in a lot of the best players, whether they are able-bodied or disabled.

Teenage players can often get disappointed and angry. Racquets sometimes get thrown. Players shout at themselves after missed shots. Stroud never does that.

¡° I just try to stay positive,¡± Stroud said. ¡°After every point, I try to say I¡¯m going to win the next point, or the next game, or the next game, or the whole match.

¡° There¡¯s always room to be positive . You can always win another time.¡±

¡¾1¡¿How is Conner Stroud different from other tennis players?

A. He was disabled in a car accident.

B. He has been coached by his father since the age of 5.

C. He is too short to be a tennis player

D. He was born disabled , yet he plays tennis well.

¡¾2¡¿What impressed Rafael Nadal the most about Conner Stroud?

A. His desire to win the match.

B. His happiness about playing tennis.

C. His faith in life, even though he is disabled.

D. The training he went through to play tennis.

¡¾3¡¿Which of the following words best described Conner Stroud?
