   Dear Jim,

I'd like to tell you something more about our school sports meet. It was holding on Oct.6, that was a fine day. There were over 1,000 students and teachers attend it. Wang Lin, a student from my class won the 100-meter race. He finish the race in 12.6 second and broke in the school record. The sports meet was really success. That was because we were all trying to do my best. Although I was not one of the winner, I was proud of what we had done.

Dear Mr. Smith,

I’m a senior school student. I do quite well my studies, but I have a serious problem that trouble me all the while. It is the relationship between my mother and I .My dear mother is an university professor, who works very much hard. She’s always strict with me, but has a little time to talk with me. I show respect for her and I’m a little afraid of her because she loses her temper easily. I don’t know how to communicate with her. As a student, I hate the exam system we are now used. This system may be a good way to

 

test a student’s memory, and it can tell you nothing about a student’s ability. It does not

 

good to students or teachers. As soon as a child begins the school, he enters a world of

 

exams that will decide his future. In fact a good exam system should train a student to

 

think himself, but it now does something like that. So students are encouraged to

 

remember what is taught. The students who comes out first in the exam often may not be

 

the best in their studies. It must be some better way to test a student’s true ability except

 

knowledge. And that is where we should do right now.
