Under-18s in England will not be allowed to buy electronic cigarettes, the government has announced. But while the number of smokers has fallen to the lowest ever level, experts fear e-cigarettes could be encouraging teenagers to take up the habit. E-cigarettes, popular with teenagers, contain a bit of nicotine and give off water vapor to make people have the feeling and took up the habit.

“We do not yet know the harm that e-cigarettes can cause to adults, let alone to children, but we do know they are not risk free,” Prof. Dame Sally Davies, England’s chief medical officer, said. “E-cigarettes can produce toxic chemicals and a small amount of nicotine and other things that could be extremely damaging to young people’s health.” he added.
