Liberal (自由) education is designed not only to teach and learn knowledge, but also to develop a person’s character. Its aim is to1each student to think for himself and make wise decisions. Now liberal education has a great 2on the world.
Much work has been done to  3 a better way of teaching. In a liberal class, students are  4to have their own thoughts and own ideas when they have5which are often held in the form of group discussion. They are properly guided to6the knowledge learned. Punishment no longer exists (存在).7and students are just like friends.
The idea is of course a perfect one if it can really be carried out. However, it8exists in the imagination and will never be realized. We must admit (承认) that9should at least be guided properly. Just close your eyes and think how many students will10the duties of a student if they are not pushed.11is the use of advice only if it is not supported by a reasonable12of  control and punishment?
It is13for us to judge the success and failure of the kind of education now, but14the bad behavior of children, which is really the15of liberal education, we can see that something must be done to help these children.

I stood there listening to my father shout at top of his voice. The 1 on his face said that one of us had done something wrong.
2 one of you did this? ”
We all stared down at the step. There was child’s handwriting in chalk there. I was very3. I hoped no one could see it. Would he guess it was me? I was so scared. When he asked me, I4, “Not me, Dad. ”
The others denied (否认) it as well. Of course, we all knew that one of us 5 have done it. But as the6and the smallest of the three, I just couldn’t find the courage to tell the7.
To find out who had written on the8, father gave us each a piece of paper and a pencil. “I want each of you to 9exactly what you see on the step. ”
I tried my best to write the words10. I didn’t want Dad to be able to tell it was me.
He gathered up our pieces of paper and looked at them. “ Since11of you will
admit(承认) to have done it, then I will punish you all. ” I stood there and said12. The last thing I wanted was for Dad to punish me!
“ I13it. ” My sister stepped forward and said she had done something she hadn’t. She was punished for a month.
We didn’t talk14that day for many years. Not until we were all older and I knew it was safe to finally tell my dad it was really me. I always felt sorry15it. That was the last time I let anyone take the blame for me.
