There is a sign at a Korean university asking tourists not to step into the grass to take photos. The sign is not written in Korean or English; it is written in Chinese.
These signs, and signs in other countries warning Chinese tourists about their behavior, have shamed many Chinese who worry about the image of the country.
Over 70 million Chinese tourists made overseas trips last year and spent $102 billion, more than the $84 billion spent by American and German tourists. For many Chinese tourists, it was their first trip abroad and they didn’t know about foreign ways. And some of these tourists took their bad habits from China with them.
Wang Yang, a Chinese deputy prime minister(国务院副总理), said, “They(the tourists) speak loudly in public, carve words or numbers on tourist attractions, cross the road when the traffic lights are still red and spit anywhere. It damages(毁坏) the image of the Chinese people and has a very bad influence.”
Before you travel to a foreign country, it’s important to learn some things about the country and its culture. You are guests in the country and it’s important to respect(尊重) your hosts. As more and more Chinese visit foreign countries, their behavior will certainly change and those shameful signs will, hopefully, disappear.

In China, parents often tell their kids not to waste food. However, it's reported that a lot of food is wasted in restaurants every day.
Many people say when they eat out, they usually order a lot of dishes and they can't eat them up. One person in Chengdu, Sichuan Province says he takes away the leftovers. "Usually we'll have some leftovers after meals, because when I invite friends to eat out, I don't know how much they can eat, so I order lots of dishes to make sure everybody has enough food."
While another person in Fuzhou, Fujian Province says she never packs what is left on the dining table. "What I usually experience during eating out is a big meal. Confidence(自信) is very important in daily life. It can help you to develop a healthy attitude(态度). A study shows that the people who are more confident are much happier. They can have more chances to make themselves successful. But how to be more confident? Here are some suggestions:

What do people do with their old, useable but outdated(过时的) computers? Most people don’t know what to do with them. Many old computers end up gathering(聚集) dust in homes. Many more are thrown out with the trash.
Finally, some computers are thinking of ways to reduce(减少) the amount of computer junk. Sony has agreed to help recycle(回收)old Sony products. Dell, Hewlett-Packard and others now also take back some equipment.
Laws(法律)are being passed, too. In Europe, computer companies will have to pay for collecting and recycle old Sony products. And 70% of computer waste must be recycled. The idea behind the laws is that computer companies themselves should pay the cost.
Yet while many people are throwing away good computers, others cannot afford them at all. Hundreds of organizations are working to solve this problem. These groups collect and repair old computers. Some also teach computer repair skills.
The computers then go to schools, charities(慈善机构) and needy individuals. Giving a used computer to one of these organizations can turn one person’s trash into someone else’s treasure(财富) and cut down on waste, too.

Where Are We Going, Dad? is one of the most popular television shows in China now. Fathers now take an active part in their children's lives.
Five well-known fathers and their children travel around China, riding camels through the western deserts (沙漠), fishing in the east sea, and selling vegetables to get money back home in the southwestern Yunnan Province. One dad doesn’t know how to do his daughter’s hair, but he learns quickly and does it well now. Another one must stay with his son for three days in the desert, because he and his son don’t know how to cook, the two only eat instant (即食) noodles.
This show raises an important question for modern Chinese society (社会) —what is the role(角色)of fathers in today’s China? In the old days, children must obey parents’ wishes and look after them in their old age.
