                                                         A Japanese birthday
       Children in Japan have birthday parties. Their families and friends come to the birthday party. They drink
cold juice and eat chicken, rice and fish.
       At the party there is a large box. The box is made out of hard paper (纸). It is very colorful paper. The box
hangs from the ceiling (天花板). There are small gifts inside the box.
       Then there is a game. Mother covers the child's eyes with a cloth (布). She gives the child a long stick (棍).
The child tries to hit the box with the stick. He wants to break the box. It is hard (难)to break it because the child
cannot see it. Finally he breaks it. The gifts fall out. All the children are happy and they rush to a gift. All the
children have gifts. Breaking something is a good thing to do at this kind of birthday party.
