While the rest of the world is sleeping,my dad is dragging my warm covers off me so we won’t be late for my 6 a.m. ice hockey game. What started as a 31 is now my profession passion(a strong liking),and _32_of it would be possible without my dad.
“Let’s go,Brendan. You can do it!” _33_ like that does not go unnoticed.Every game,no matter what the _34_ is,my dad always says“ Good game.”and“ You looked great out there.”I'm _35_ ,knowing that even if I make a mistake or _36_ poorly,my dad will still be there for me. _37_ is one of the greatest things anyone can have.My dad is my support, without _38_ me to become something I’m not.It was my dream to play hockey, and he just _39_ me.
As I get older, _40_becomes fiercer. Each season brings a new schedule with more than thirty games, which my dad eagerly _41 .He gets as nervous as I do,but somehow _42_ in his seat and keeps _43 .He wants to yell(shout in excitement)and scream like most hockey parents, _44_ he is different. __45_each game,we sit down to eat and go over things to work_46_ in the future.Usually he only tells me how proud he is of me. _47_all those early- morning games and later-afternoon skates with Dad,I realize how lucky I am to _48_ him. It’s not easy getting up and driving to rinks(溜冰场)at all hours. My dad not only does that, but also helps me realize my dreams.I make sure that every game he attends,I play my _49 ,just to show him those 6 a.m._50_did me some good.

I do a lot of management training each year for the Circle K Company. Among the 21 we discuss in our classes is the 22 of quality employees (雇员)
“What has caused you to stay 23 enough to become a manager?" I asked. After a while a new manager took the 24 and said slowly, "it was a baseball glove.”
Cynthia said she used to 25 a Circle K clerk job as an interim (时临的.) one while she looked for something 26 . On her second day behind the counter, she received a ( an)27 from her nine-year-old son, Jessie. He 28 a baseball glove for the little League. She 29 that as a single mother, money was 30 , and her first check would have to go for paying 31.
When Cynthia arrived for work the next morning, Partircia, the store manager asked her to come to her small office and handed her a box. “I overheard you 32 to your son yesterday,” she said, “and I know that it is 33 to explain things to kids. This is a baseball glove for Jessie. I know you have to pay bills 34 you can buy gloves. You know we can’t 35 good people like you as 36 as we would like to; but we do 37 and I want you to know how 38 you are to us.”
The thoughtfulness, empathy (同情) and love of the store manager show vividly that people 39 more how much a( n) 40 cares than how much he pays.

A group of class friends, highly successful in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor .The conversation soon1into complaints about stress in work and life
Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the2 and returned with a large pot of coffee and a variety of3—porcelain,plastic,glass,crystal,some4 -looking,some expensive, some delicate—telling them to5themselves to the coffee
When all the students had a cup of coffee in 6 ,the professor said:“If you noticed, all the nice-looking expensive cups were taken up,7behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to8only the best for yourselves, that is the9of your problems and stress.
Be assured that the cup itself10no quality to the coffee. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink .11all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup,but you12went for the best cups. And then you began13each other’s cups.
Now consider this:Life is the14,the jobs, money and 15 in society are the cups . They are Just tools to hold and contain life, and the type of cup we have does not definenor change the quality of life we16. Sometimes,by concentrating only on the cup,we17to enjoy the coffee God has18us. God brews the coffee, not the cups…Enjoy your coffee!”
The happiest people don’t have the best of everything . They Just 19the best of everything .
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply . Speak kindly . Leave the 20to God .

When I was a teenager I volunteered to work at the water station at a 10,000 m race. My1was to pass out water to the runners. I remember being so excited to see all the different kinds of2who passed by and 3a cup of water. The next year I signed up for the 4and gave it a shot.
The first 10,000 m race was quite an experience. I jogged, I walked, I jogged and I walked. At times, I didn’t5if I could finish.
At one point near the end, a 70-year-old man ran past me very6, and I felt embarrassed that I was 50 years younger than him and I couldn’t even keep up with him. I felt7for a second.
But then I8something. He was running his race and I was running mine. He had9capacities, experience, training and goals for himself. I had mine. Remember my10was only to finish.
After a minute, it11me that this was a lesson I could draw from . I learned12about myself in that moment. I turned my13into inspiration.
I decided that I would not14running races. In fact, I would run even more races and I would learn how to train and15properly and one day I would be one of those 70-year-olds who were still running. As I16the finishing line, I was proud17my accomplishment.
In life we all have those moments when we18ourselves to others. It’s only19. Don’ allow those moments to weaken you. Turn them into20and let them inspire you. Use them to show you what is possible.

The nine-year-old boy was attracted by the sight of my father practicing martial arts the moment he walked into the gym. As my father threw speedy punches(出拳) into the1 bag-yet was hardly able to move it-the boy walked slowly toward him.
My father,2 of the boy’s stare, jammed a couple of sharp sidekicks into the bag to end his3 . He picked up his towel, sat down on a nearby bench, and began4 his face and hands.
“Hey, mister,” said the boy. My father5 at the boy, bringing the towel down off his face and putting it around to the back of his neck. “Do you know karate or6?” the boy asked.
“Actually, I know Tae Kwon Do,” my father answered.
“Cool. What7 are you?”
“Black belt,” my father said. “You like martial arts?”
“Yeah, and I want to know if you can show me a8!”said the kid. “Can you show me how to9 someone?”
My father10 for a moment before he said, “Come here.” and11 with his hand for the boy to come12. His expression was serious.
The kid took a couple of steps closer to my father. Looking slightly13 .As the boy moved closer, my father quickly14 his hand straight out,15 stopped within an inch of the boy’s chest.
The boy, shocked, jumped back in clumsy16, almost falling over himself. My father smiled, with his hand still outstretched in the boy’s direction. “Give me your17,” my father said.
The boy inched forward again,18. My father took his hand and began to shake it19, as if the two of them had been old friends20 each other.
“You know, kid,” my father said, “you’11 solve more problems with this move than with any other.
