Mother's Day was coming, but John had been visiting customers.He was now in a small town just outside a flower shop and he knew what to do.
He went into the shop and saw a young man 1 the clerk to sell him some roses for six dollars, but the clerk just explained that roses were 2 and that his money was not enough.The clerk looked up at John, 3 her head.Something inside of John was 4 by the boy's voice.John had been 5 with his business, so he looked at the clerk and 6 mouthed that he would pay for the roses.
The clerk told the young man to get the roses for six dollars.The young man almost jumped into the 7 and ran from the store with the 8 .It was 9 the extra dollars just to see that kind of excitement.
John ordered his own flowers and made sure that the 10 would include a note telling his mother how much he loved her.He drove away from the shop, feeling very 11 .He caught a traffic light about two blocks away. 12 he waited at the light, he saw the young boy walking down the sidewalk.He watched him cross the street and enter a park through two huge gates.Suddenly, he 13 that it wasn't a park but a cemetery(公墓).

It was our second day in Tokyo.And we were 1 in the large underground station and did not know which train to take to get back to our hotel.My friend, Haima, and I stood 2 the faces of the Japanese walking 3 us in the busy station.We finally zeroed in on a young girl who looked 4 .Though she stopped, it was 5 she could not understand a word of English.

I have never seen 15 go out of their way to help a lost person in Delhi, usually just 16 to give directions and moving on.Little did we realize 17 there were going to be many more such 18 in the following days that would totally change our preconceived(怀有偏见的)ideas about the Japanese.
However by the end of this of this 19 , few of my old opinions about the Japanese being poker-faced, serious, 20 , formal and so on existed.
