What about seeing a movie sometime next week? 　　W：I don’t know．I’ve got so many things to do． 　　M：OK, I see．Then see you, Jane． 　　W：See you． 　　(Text 10) 　　The terrifying typhoon tsunamis have killed more than 125 000 people in 12 different countries on Indian Ocean coastlines．Because this kind of typhoon rarely happens in the Indian Ocean, there is no system to warn the coastal areas that are about to be hit． 　　Tsunami is the Japanese language for “harbor wave”．They are usually caused by a sudden rise or fall of part of the Earth’s crust under the ocean．Tsunamis often happen in oceans and they are most common in the Pacific．Normally a tsunami includes a series of monster waves and one of the most striking faces about tsunamis is that an earthquake on one side of the Pacific Ocean can cause giant waves and destruction on the other side．Tsunamis can travel at a terrible speed of up to 800 kilometers an hour where the ocean is deep．They can cross the entire ocean in a day or less． 　　Waves may only be a few meters high in the ocean but when they are near the shore and reach the shallow water, they build up very quickly in height, and sometimes they can reach up to 10 meters．Tsunamis travel outward in all directions from the center of an earthquake and attack coastlines．
