Is Failure a Bad Thing?
Failure is what often happens in our life．Students may fail in exams, scientists may fail in their research work, and athletes may fail in competitions．
Although failure happens to everyone, attitudes towards failure are various．Some people don’t think their failure is a very important thing at all．So they pay no attention to it．As a result, they will have the same failure a period later．Some people think themselves are fools and lose their hearts in everything after they get a failure．Consequently, they spend their time and energy on useless things and they may really be fools as they have thought．
Other people are quite different from the two kinds of people mentioned above．Instead of being distressed and lost, they draw a lesson from every failure and become more experienced．After hard work, they will be successful in the end．It is said that failure is the mother of success．Success will be gained after times of failures so long as we are good at drawing a lesson from our failures．
In my opinion, failure is not a bad thing, the really bad thing is taking a failure as failure or even lose our heart after failure．

Failure is a common thing in life. But there are different attitudes towards failure. Whoever draws a lesson from every failure becomes experienced and succeeds.
本文的中心思想是在日常生活中，失败是常见的，但是对待失败会有不同的态度，那些从失败中得出教训的人最后才能成功。

I think that a hero doesn’t have to be someone who saves people or anything, but he or she can be a teacher or a friend. My personal hero is my music teacher, since he puts so much extra effort into teaching us. He does an extra Steel Drum Band for us. He doesn’t have to do anything extra for us, but he chooses to since he loves to teach and be with us so much. Not many other teachers would want to do so much extra stuff for us since they probably get tired of us after a while, but he does since he cares. No matter how annoying we are to him, he always helps us. If we don’t understand what he’s teaching, he helps us more and tries even harder to make us understand everything we need to. He teaches us the proper techniques for holding instruments as well as playing, instead of just yelling at us if we mess up. He will always have a kind thing to say, even if you’re badly failing his class. He won’t be mad. He will just try harder to help. He always remembers his students, and has some sort of special connection of some sort with everyone. He will always remember to smile and talk to you in the halls, even if he only waves, he still notices everyone.

The arrival of World Book and Copyright Day always draws public attention to young people's reading, but mere temporary attention cannot increase the popularity of reading. The lack of reading books is becoming an increasingly severe problem in China. 
According to a survey by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Shanghai residents read most in China, with only eight books read a year on average. About 1.3 billion Chinese people read less than one book every year, if textbooks are not taken into account. 
Nowadays, children's spare time is occupied by attending various tutorial classes, taking exam preparation training, and learning piano, painting, dancing, weiqi, or other techniques. 
"Childhood is a good period for reading literature. Reading can wake up the true nature of children, and good education should fit children's nature," said Zhou Yimin, who is also a teacher. 
Scholars are also worried about another adverse impact of the lack of reading. "If a child had never read a book from beginning to end before the fourth grade, he or she may lack the ability to read an entire book," said Jiang Junjing, an experienced teacher. What is worse, it may result in a lack of the ability to grasp the whole situation. Children who lacked the ability to read an entire book in childhood may end up being unable to grasp the whole picture or manage the whole team when they grow up.
