小题6:去掉the。考查冠词用法。固定短语put sb into prison “把。。关进监狱”,表示抽象意义时prison前没有冠词。比如“坐牢in prison”“出狱out of prison”。
小题7:去掉a。考查冠词用法。句中progress为不可数名词,前面不用冠词,所以去掉a。
小题8:that –what。考查宾语从句。from后面是宾语从句,从句中缺少were used to的宾语,而引导词that在宾语从句不做成分,所以把that改为what。
小题9:while –when 。考查连词用法。根据语法可知短语be about to do 只和when从句连用,所以把连词while改为when。 
小题10:laugh –laughing。考查非谓语动词。can’t stand 后面跟动名词,所以把laugh改为laughing, some people在句中做动名词的逻辑主语。
