题目内容
Human activity has influenced not only the environment we live in, but also some parts of the world no one has been to. Increased levels of carbon dioxide (二氧化碳) in the atmosphere produced by forest burning, automobiles and industry has led to rapid changes in untouched areas of South America's Amazonian rainforest.
The latest results of a study carried out by US and Brazilian scientists show that carbon dioxide levels have risen by 30 per cent in the last 200 years. The gas is used in photosynthesis (光合作用), the
process by which organisms (生物体)change sunlight into energy.
The higher level of carbon dioxide is causing some trees in the Amazonian rainforest to grow faster and die sooner. As a result, certain plants and animals could disappear.
"Tropical rainforests are famous for having lots of special species (种类)," said William Laurance, leader of the research team. "If you change the tree types, then other species particularly animals that feed on the trees, will change as well."
With certain trees growing faster and dying sooner, the plants that live in their shadows are also threatened. Alexandre Oliveira, another member of the research team, explained, "Large, fast growing trees are winning at the expense of smaller trees that live lower down."
The team has spent the last 20 years following the life patterns (模式) of 14,000 trees spread across an area of 190 square kilometers. They have found that the people responsible for the death of the rainforests are not just hunters and those who cut down trees. Something as innocent(清白的) as driving the car to the shops instead of walking can also cause damage.
7. What does harm to our environment according to the passage?
A. Dying animals.B. Human activity.C. Chemical plants.D. Burning houses.
8. The reason for South America's Amazonian rainforest to grow faster and die sooner is________.
A. that levels of carbon dioxide haverisen
B. that people burn plenty of rainforests freely
C. that the gas can change sunlight into energy
D. that tropical weather changes from time to time
9. The passage is most probably________.
A. government news
B. a wild experiment
C. a geography book
D. an experimental report
10. From the passage we can infer that ________.
A. those who go camping in forests shouldn't be responsible
B. innocent people should drive cars into rainforests
C. those who cut down trees will be punished
D. people who cut down trees should plant more trees

Section A (10 points)
Directions: Read the following passage. Complete the diagram by using the information from the passage. WRITE NO MORE THAN 3 WORDS for each answer.
Many students eat their breakfasts on the way to school or in the dinning-room. But some of them don’t really know how to eat well when eating out.
Here is some important advice. The first is to eat less fast food. The most obvious harm of eating too much fast food is weight gaining because of too much fat. Young people and adults are at risk of diseases related to weight.
Too much fast food can drag your body down. French fries, for example, were recently found to contain much more acryl amide(丙烯酰胺) than other food. This may cause cancer. Actually, deep fried food all contains acryl amide. So don’t eat it too often.
Soda is another thing you should watch out for. Cokes and other sodas contain a lot of sugar and can slow down a person’s calcium absorption, so it’s best to drink as little soda as possible.
Food in the dinning-room may not be as tasty as fast food, but it’s actually easier to make healthy choices. Human bodies need variety. You can have a meal that balances lean proteins, vitamins and complex carbohydrates(碳水化合物). In other words, a meal with fish or meat, vegetables and some bread or rice will provide you with most nutrients that the body needs.
Some snacks, on the other hand, will help keep you going until your next big meal. It is natural for teenagers, especially boys, to feel hungry during school time. Don’t forget to take some foods, like whole-grain biscuits or low-fat milk in your school bag.

第三部分:写作(共两节,满分35分)
第一节任务型阅读(共10小题;每小题1分)
阅读下列短文,根据所读的内容在文章后的表格中填入恰当的单词。注意表格中的每个空格只填1个单词。
Global warming is one of the major environmental problems we are facing today. Scientists think a further rise in the carbon dioxide levels will make this situation worse. The greenhouse effect causes the earth’s heat to be trapped in the atmosphere, which results in the increase in temperature. This in turn has an effect on various plants and animals. Global warming makes it difficult for some of them to survive.
Ozone depletion(臭氧耗损) means a drop in the quantity of the ozone in the earth’s stratosphere (平流层). The ozone hole in the Antarctic is mainly due to the release of CFCs ( a type of gas). Because of ozone depletion, humans are facing various problems such as the harmful effects of UV rays.
Water pollution is caused when wastes are thrown into water. What’s more, many harmful chemicals are also put into water, which causes the deaths of many wild animals and endangers the health of humans.
The increasing population is causing a loss of natural resources. This is related to various human activities. For example, overfishing has caused many kinds of fishes to die out. Forests are being cleared to meet the rising demand for paper, wood, even for land. Mining(采矿) has led to a further drop in mineral resources. If we used up all the resources, how could our children survive on this planet?
These are some of the current environmental problems we are facing today. Only with an effort from each person, can we hope to save our planet from being destroyed.
