　　Last summer vacation, about 100 students from Beijing took a learning vacation in the United Kingdom．They went to the schools, which offered short courses for foreign students of all ages, from seven to seventy years old!

　　Some students stayed in school buildings．Others liked to live with local families．They thought living with a family was fun and that could help them learn English．Just think－they had at least two hours a day of breakfast and dinner conversation with native speakers of English!

　　Classes were usually small with eight or ten students．Most afternoons they had a choice of swimming, soccer and other outdoor games．The schools’ teachers showed the students around many museums and amusement parks in London on the days off．The students were very happy because they had a chance to improve their English and had fun at the same time．

　　You will have a lot of reading to do in this grade this year．You can do more of it in less time if you learn to read rapidly．
