本文讲Lily Brown正在看12月份不同影院的电影信息,包括电影名称、放映的电影院、电话、地址、时间、日期和票价信息。

1细节理解题。根据题干中“She will be free on Monday.”结合表格中时间信息,可知《唐顿庄园》周一不上映,排除B;根据题干中“If she only has 40”要观看40元以内的电影,《冰雪奇缘Ⅱ》的票价“Price: 60 for adults, half for kids under 12.”,《星球大战》的票价“Price: 60, half for students , free for kids under 6”,再结合第1段中“Lily Brown is a university student in Changsha.”可知看《星球大战》作为学生的Lily可以半价,但《冰雪奇缘Ⅱ》的票价高出了40元,排除A。故选C

2细节理解题。根据题干中“Her sister is very interested in cartoons.”可知妹妹喜欢看卡通,文中只有《冰雪奇缘Ⅱ》属于卡通电影,电影院的电话是85529777。故选A

3计算题。根据“Lily Brown is a university student in Changsha. She has a happy family of four. She really likes watching movies with her 5-year-old sister when she is free.”可知Brown一家四口人,两个大人,一个学生和一个5岁的小孩,结合《唐顿庄园》的票价信息“Price: 80, half for students, free for children under 6”可知需要花费:80×2+80÷2+0=200(元)。故选B

文章属于图表类阅读,这类阅读图表本身简单明了,只需带着题目要求去图表中找对应信息即可,是考试中的送分题。第3小题关键词“the Browns go to see Downton Abbey in Max Cinema”,定位到表格第2行,结合其票价信息,很容易得出答案。

IG, a Chinese esports club, won the world championship title in LOL (League of Legends) in 2018. It beat European team 3:0 in South Korea. It was the first time that a club from China’s LPL (League of Legends Pro League) won the title in the world championship’s eight-year history. So what is esports?

Esports (Electronic Sports) is a form of competition using video games between professional players. It is not only a simple game in a sense, but a sport in which players use electronic equipment to play against each other in intelligence. It can improve the players’ thinking ability, heart-to-eye coordination (协调), willpower and develop team spirit.

In 2003, esports became the 99th sport in China. However, esports is different from traditional sports and online games. Traditional sports athletes mainly train their physical ability and skills, such as muscle memory, exercising and dieting; while esports athletes’ training is mostly about the mind, such as studying strategies (策略) and new updates for the game.

The industry has been developed for more than 10 years, but the public usually hold the opinion that playing online games has no benefit but taking one’s attention away from their duties. In fact, there are several differences between esports and online games

First, the basic features. Online games are entertainment games while esports is a sport. Esports is an intellectual competition between people in an organized environment created by information technology.

Second, the game rules. Esports has clear game rules. Its biggest feature is strict time and round limitations. However, online games are lack of clear rules of the game. Without time limit, it’s easy for people especially teenagers to be addicted to (沉迷于) it.

Third, the sports spirit. Esports competitions between athletes pay great attention to fair sports spirit. Some online games only need to recharge (充钱) to gain advantages, which is the main difference between esports and online games.

In the upcoming 2022 Asian Games to be held in Hangzhou, esports will officially become a medal event. Esports is a new sporting activity. It will take a long time to grow into a mature industry like NBA (the National Basketball Association of the US). Let’s have a better understanding of esports and expect its bright future.

2What is esports?

3When did esports become the 99th sport in China?

【题目】The Sixth Time I Went to the Principal’s Office

When I was in the seventh grade, I had problems behaving. My heart was in the right place, but I

couldn’t always follow the rules. I played many tricks on my schoolmates. Once, I even pulled a girl’s hair

on the school bus to get her attention. As a result, I was repeatedly sent to the office of the principal(校长).

Although I hated going there, I did not hate the principal, Mr. Ratcliff.

Mr. Ratcliff was a kind, elderly man. When he spanked( 打屁股) me for putting some ants into a

classmate’s pencil box, it didn’t hurt at all, but it did hurt my feelings. I thought so much of him and

moments like that seemed to prove I was hopelessly bad.

When I got called to Mr. Ratcliff’s office for the sixth time, I had no idea what I had done. I felt

disappointed as I walked down there. I went into his office, sat down, and looked at the floor. Then he said

the last thing I expected to hear:” Kevin, I’ve heard you’ve been behaving really well lately. I want you to

know how proud I am of you, and I just called you down to my office to give you a peppermint.”

“Really?” I was surprised.

“Yes. Now you can take that peppermint and go back to class.”

I carried the peppermint with me as if it was a gold coin. When I got into my classroom, I bragged ( 吹嘘) to my classmates about my turnaround, excitedly. I wasn’t so bad after all.

Mr. Ratcliff was really kind. He made me realize that I was just a kid who had problems with behavior. He bought some peppermints and took the time to notice me when I got something-anything-right. Mr.Ratcliff gave me some hope by giving me some love. I will just remember him for the rest of my life.

You're not the same person you were as a child. You're not even the same personyou were five years ago. We don't just mean your personality. While we'd love tostart a never-ending discussion over the “true self”we're here to talk about thecells(细胞)in your body.

Do you know how your fingernails and hair are constantly growing and replacingthemselves? The same thing happens almost everywhere in your body. Your outerlayer of skin makes way for fresher skin, and inside your veins(血管),blood cells turn over to make wayfor fresh blood. It's probably no surprise that these types of cells are short-lived, even some of the mostseemingly permanent(永久的)parts of your body replace themselves over time-including your bones.

Strong as your bones might seem, the cells they're made of won't last a lifetime. Bones are masters at rebuilding themselves, which is why most broken bones can heal on their own into the right shape.

Bones have special cells called osteoclasts(破骨细胞)whose job is to break down bone, even if itisn't broken, and send the minerals into the blood stream. This may sound frighteningly like your bonesare wearing away, but your body knows what it's doing. As osteoclasts break down bone, osteoblasts(成骨细胞)build up new bone to replace the old. By the end of each year, about 10 percent of yourentire adult skeleton will have been rebuilt through this process.

If 10 percent of your bone breaks down every year, it must take about ten years to renew 100percent of your skeleton. That would be a great guess, and it lines up nicely with the medical myth thatthe human body's cells are fully replaced every seven years, but the body is a bit more complex. That10 percent is just an average-some bone grows faster than that, and some grows slower. While someparts of your bone will turn over quickly, other parts will stick around for decades. In fact, most bonecells could live as long as 50 years.

So before you get wrapped up in an identity crisis(危机)about the cells in your body disappearingon you, know that you can lose some hair and you can cut your nails, but the bones of you aren't goinganywhere-at least not very soon and not all at once.

1Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage?

A. All the cells in our body are the same ones that we were born with.

B. Our blood cells are constantly growing and replacing themselves.

C. It must take about 10 years to rebuild 100 percent of our skeleton.

D. Osteoblasts can break down skin and also rebuild it over time.

2The underlined words "wearing away" probably mean“__

A. building upB. taking offC. dying outD. turning on

3What does the passage mainly talk about?

A. Our skeleton seems permanent but renews itself over time.

B. It is not surprising that some cells in our body are short-lived.

C. There are two types of cells in our bones: osteoclasts and osteoblasts.

D. We are not the same person we were five years ago because of personality.
