The top scorers in the gaokao, China’s national college entrance exam, have always been a major focus during the results coming out. Recently, China University Alumni Association（中国大学校友会） published a report based on its research into more than 3,000 provincial-level top scorers from 1952~2015 in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. They found that the most popular universities they choose are Peking University, Tsinghua University, The University of HK and Taiwan University.
