Teachers, grandparents, parents and classmates,I'm very proud that I have been chosen to speak to you all today.I'm a bit nervous as I've never made a speech before so many people,so please forgive me if it shows.

As we all know,it's time to say goodbye to everyone. We're sorry to leave you at the end of our junior high school education, and we promise that we'll never forget the happy times we have spent in these buildings with you all.

Now,I'd like to thank three groups of people for the three things I've learnt while I've been a pupil at our school. The first group is my friends, and what I've learnt is the importance of friendship. We've worked hard together,we've even shared some difficult times together, but we've also had a lot of fun. Many of us will go to new schools and we may not see each other so often in the future. But friends don't have to see each other all the time.Sometimes the friends you treasure(珍惜) most are the friends you see less often.A life without old friends is like a day without sunshine. We'll always stay in touch. The second group is our parents and grandparents. We thank you for the love you have shown us during our years at junior high school, for making a home where we feel both safe and relaxed. We also thank you for your help with our homework. How many of us owe our good grades to the suggestions you have made during those long evenings? And finally, the third group is our teachers. We can never pay you back for your kindness, your patience, and knowledge which you have offered us.Sometimes you've made us work very hard. But you have always been fair and you'll always be our role models.

There's a saying from Ireland which is a favorite of mine:Strangers are only friends you haven't met yet.I couldn't say it better myself. So from the bottom of my heart,I thank you all and wish you success for the future.

It was a summer afternoon in the countryside.Wan Bo,a university student, was painting while his classmate Tang Qi was making a wooden box by the river.A little boy riding on a rocking horse caught their eye by chance. It brought them back to their childhood, warm and happy.

“Why not try to make one by ourselves?”said Wan Bo.“You are good at making things and I am interested in painting.”

“Actions speak louder than words,” Tang Qi said. Then, the two young men began to collect some information about it.During those days, watching videos about carving(雕刻) and shaping wood into horse shapes on the Internet became an important part of their life.

Several months later,a wooden rocking horse appeared. They felt so excited that they put the picture of it on the Internet right away.To their surprise,it attracted lots of people's attention and some even hoped to order one.

The two young men thought it might be a good chance. They sent some forms to the customers to make a survey.According to the result, they made each customer a special rocking horse. These horses were quite different from those produced in other factories, and they soon became popular among the customers.

In the first year of their new hobby,Wan and Tang made thirteen rocking horses.Sometimes, they also repaired rocking horses for people. They made the old ones look new again.Wan and Tang helped those people bring back many happy memories.

Their hobby has now become a successful and busy business.

A young college student thought that he chose the wrong major(专业) at a common college,so he drank every day and didn't study at all.He became more and more frustrated(挫败的).

But he was never absent from Professor Yang's biology class. He liked the course.Besides,Yang's class was so interesting that he always listened carefully, never caring about whether the other students were paying attention or not in class.Once he put a note in the homework he handed in,saying:“Professor,it is said that today's college students are cheaper than potatoes.Do you agree?”

That day Professor Yang sent for him after class. When he came,he found the professor at a table with a plate of food. They drank happily with their meal.

When they became half drunk, the professor showed a small potato that was sprouting(发芽的).“Do you know how much this costs?” he asked the young man.“It's soft but poisonous(有毒的).Nobody will take it even if it's free.” He then threw the potato away. The professor then showed him another potato. It was half the size of a football and perfectly round.“This potato is organic(有机的).It is not only large and fresh but also free of pollution. It is in high demand and quite expensive.”

The young man was impressed by what he'd heard.“Be such a potato,” said the professor.

“Do it again,” he ______ it back to me.

“No, I won’t.” I was angry stepping out of his room.

A few weeks later, my brother wasn’t at home. “I’m going to _____ how to do this without him!” I promised myself. I spent the rest of my night watching a guy on YouTube teach me to solve the first few steps. I mastered those steps.

“Actually yeah, let me see it. My fastest solving ______ is 15 seconds,” he noted as he began solving the cube. It took him about 25 seconds to finish it.
