Yang Hua is from Nanjing,China. He is fourteen years old and he is going to England for a month to improve (提高) his English. He takes a plane and meets other students in Beijing. They are going to the same place. He's so happy because two of his friends are also going to Oxford (牛津镇) but they are staying with different families.
The arrival (抵达)
Oxford is a very famous university (大学) town,not far from London. There are colleges，museums,sports centres,shops,restaurants and markets. The buildings are old and beautiful. The English families are there waiting for them. “Hello,Yang Hua,I'm Janet”’ says the mother. “Welcome to Oxford!”
At home
The house is comfortable and Yang Hua9s room is very nice. It's 6 p.m., time for dinner with the whole family. At first Yang Hua only says “yes” or “no”，and his English sounds very strange. The parents speak very slowly,and their eighteen-year-old son，Andy,can say a little Chinese. So later,they talk happily.
Time for school
Yang Hua goes to school every day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is a lovely modern school. Yang Hua says, 66We write a lot during our English classes in China. Here we speak a lot and play a lot of games.99 The teachers are very friendly and helpful.
After school
What Yang Hua really likes is the afternoon. He and his friends go swimming,play sports,visit museums and sometimes they go shopping. Shopping is fun!They buy sweets,postcards and eat hamburgers and chips!In the evening Yang Hua stays at home. He watches TV or plays cards and games with Andy and his friends.
Yang Hua finds English easy now. He enjoys his stay in England.
