Children dream about candy for weeks before Halloween, which falls on Oct 31 every year. They wear special clothes and go from house to house around their neighborhood asking for candy.

Candy is at the heart of Halloween. Americans enjoy candy more than people in any other country. According to a survey, Americans spent about $2 billion on candy during the Halloween season in 2010. An average Jack-o’-lantern bucket(桶)carries about 250 pieces of candy.

Kids like chocolate and candy apples, a special treat during Halloween. These are apples covered in a sweet syrup(糖浆), making a mixture of candy and fruit.
