Last week, we were told how some international students have few friends in their host countries when they study overseas. Student Union blogger Jessica Stahl watched the problem closely. Her study showed 75% of foreign students said they had more than 2 American friends. But 10% reported having no American friends.
Communications specialist Elisabeth Gareis also studied the problem. She says efforts on how to improve relationships between the two groups of students have yet to be studied in detail, but these efforts should begin with the university, and that these universities have been working hard. “Universities should build a bridge that improves the communication.
