Sgt. Chris Duke is a soldier who was serving in Afghanistan. He made good friends with three dogs that were named Sasha, Target and Rufus. So when the dogs had a chance to protect Duke, they didn’t back down.

One February night, a terrorist tried to enter the soldiers’ quarters to kill the 50 men inside. But he didn’t notice the dogs. The three dogs began barking as soon as the terrorist entered the quarters. They tried to stop him from hurting the people inside. When the explosives(炸药) detonated(引爆), the terrorist was killed, but all the soldiers kept safe.

But sadly, one of the dogs, Sasha, was badly injured and died soon. Target and Rufus were regarded as heroes.

When Duke finished his tour of duty and returned home the following month, he wanted to bring his friend, Rufus along. But it isn’t allowed.

At last, with the help of the group, Rufus has arrived at Duke’s hometown. He will live out the rest of his days with Duke and his family. Duke is glad to have the chance to care for Rufus for the rest of his life. In his eyes, it’s the least he could do for his honest friend.
