16, day before yesterday.
Every of our family members are
greatly delighted to learn how you are getting along very
well with your lessons. Time passed quickly. In scores of days,
you’ll finish middle school. What please
us most is that you have made up mind to take the college
entrance examination this summer. What wonderful it is!
Dad is with you, as well as I. We hope you
to make good use of your time. The fuller
preparations if you make, the surer success you’ll be.

I was heard about the job through a friend who worked in
same company. But the hardest part was the interview.
It happened like this. I was cycling along a street for the
rush hour on my way to the interview.
A yellow car passes me and suddenly stopped. As there
was another car coming in the other direction, so I
had to brake hardly and I hit another cyclist.
We both fell off, but fortunately neither of them was hurt.
I was extremely anger! I saw that a little further up the road
the traffic lights had been turned red.
Now I had not thought that I would have to go down into the pit with the snakes in order to 31 them, and so I was wearing the strong sort of clothes. I 32 this to my friends, and they very 33 lent me their trousers and shoes, which were quite thick and strong. So, as I could think of no more excuses, they tied the 34 round my waist and started to 35 me into the pit.
Just before I landed at the bottom I 36 up and told my friends to stop lowering me. I wanted to 37 the ground that I was going to land on, to make sure there were no snakes on the 38 . The area being clear, I shouted to them to lower away, 39 at that moment two things happened.
First, the light went out; second, one of the shoes which I had 40 from my friend, and which were too large for me, came off. So there was I, standing at the 41 of a ten-foot–deep pit, with no light and one shoe on one foot, surrounded by seven or eight deadly Gaboon snakes. I had never been more 42 . I had to wait in the dark, without daring to move, 43 my friend pulled the lamp out, relit it and lowered it into the pit again.
With plenty of 44 and both shoes on, I felt much 45 , and set about the task of catching the snakes. This was really 46 enough.
I had a forked stick in my hand, and with this I came near each reptile, pinned it down with the fork and then 47 it up by the back of the neck, and put it into my snake bag. What I had to 48 out for was that while I was busying catching one snake, another might move round 49 me and I might step back on it. However, it all passed off without 50 , and at the end of half an hour I had caught eight of the Gaboon snakes.
