¡¡¡¡¡¡ In Canberra, there is a free market called ¡°Trash and Treasure¡±, where anything can be bought and sold, from waste materials to ¡¡1¡¡ ¡¡second-hand objects. The prices are usually¡¡ 2¡¡ . It¡¯s held on Sundays. A lot of people go and try their luck in this market. My home is not far from there. Sometimes I can ¡¡3¡¡ ¡¡hear the customers bargaining (ÌÖ¼Û»¹¼Û) with the tradesman. ¡¡4¡¡ ¡¡I have been there to do shopping only once. I ¡¡5¡¡ ¡¡to buy a television set to watch TV programmes I liked by myself, since I was ¡¡6¡¡ ¡¡TV viewer.

¡¡¡¡¡¡ But I was not lucky in no ¡¡7¡¡ . The first tradesman I saw was selling cassettes(¼Òô´ø)

and recorders, which were shining in the sun and the ¡¡8¡¡ ¡¡were quite reasonable. It was

difficult not to be attracted. I ¡¡9¡¡ ¡¡one of the cassettes closely. It certainly looked new and

modern. On the box, the words ¡°TDK, made in Japan¡± had been beautifully ¡¡10¡¡ . The man said that it was worth $5, but as a special ¡¡11¡¡ , he would let me have it ¡¡12¡¡ ¡¡$3. I shook my head and held out a finger ¡¡13¡¡ ¡¡that I was willing to ¡¡14¡¡ ¡¡one dollar and I would buy five. Signing to me widely, the man ¡¡15¡¡ ¡¡as if he found my offer (³ö¼Û) unacceptable, but finally ¡¡16¡¡ ¡¡the price to $2. I began to be walking away and then he ¡¡17¡¡ ¡¡after me and thrust five cassettes into my hands. Though he kept ¡¡18¡¡ ¡¡his arms in despair (ʧÍûµØ)£¬he readily ¡¡19¡¡ ¡¡the five dollars I gave him. I felt especially ¡¡20¡¡ ¡¡with my wonderful bargain----until I reached home. None of them moved in the recorder and even worse my recorder has stopped working ever since.
