Every parent wants their child to grow up to enjoy life and be successful. Each and every one of us has something that we don't want our children to experience as they get older. We protect them hoping they will never experience hurt, yet as they get older they come across their own struggles.

We often do everything we can to keep them from making the mistakes that we have made.Your children are not you. They are incredible little beings that choose you to experience life with. They are not little “mini me's” that will make the same mistakes we have made or learn the way we learn from our own experiences. They go to school, have experiences that they only tell us about, and understand the experiences through their own thoughts and feelings mixed in with family behavioral patterns. This is where you can make a difference.Be an example.

Teach your child how to live life by being the person you would want them to be-helping others, loving yourself and making no judgments about other people. As you learn this in your own self and apply it, your child won't need you to speak a word.If little Joannie doesn't want to share with another child, show them how to share.Show by example.

If you don't want other to walk all over you, treat others as you want to be treated because there is a child learning behaviors from you.Be the example of what you want your child to be through your own positive thoughts and feelings. It is the best thing you can do for your child and yourself to ensure your child feel accepted and loved as they get older.

Every culture has a recognized point when a child becomes an adult, when rules must be followed and tests passed.

In China, although teenagers can get their ID cards at 16, many only see themselves as an adult when they are 18.In the US, where everyone drives, the main step to the freedom of adult life is learning to drive. At 16, American teens take their driving test. When they have their license, they drive into the grown-up world.

“Nobody wants to ride the cheese bus to school,”said Eleanor Fulham, 17.She brought the pressure back to memory, especially from kids from wealthier families.“It's like you're not cool if you don't have a car,”she said.

According to a recent research, 41% of 16 to 19-year-olds in the US own cars, up from 23% in 1985.Although most of these cars are bought by parents, some teens get part-time jobs to help pay.

Not all families can afford cars for their children. In cities with subways and limited parking, some teenagers don't want them. But in rich suburban areas without subways, and where bicycles are more for fun than transportation, it is strange for a teenager not to have a car.

But police say 16-year-olds have almost three times more accidents than 18 and 19-year-olds.This has made many parents pause before letting their kids drive.

Julie Sussman, of Virginia, decided that her son Chad, 15, will wait until he is 17 to apply for his learner's permit.Chad said he has accepted his parent's decision, although it has caused some teasing for his friends.“They say that I am unlucky,”he said.“But I'd rather be alive than driving, and I don't really trust my friends on the road either.”

Every person leaves a footprint. That's what I learnt when I started to work as a private investigator 10 years ago.People pay restaurant bills with their bank card, check into hotels or travel around. In every case, they leave a trace. And because of this, I'm able to track them down even when they don't want to be found.

The first thing I do when I want to find out where someone is staying is to go to the neighbourhood where he used to live. It's human nature to tell stories-which is why neighbours will tell me all they know when I ring at their houses.Sometimes, someone even talks about his friend's dishonesty. Then I produce a pattern of my subject's life:if he likes to have a holiday in Spain or in Italy, if he prefers two or three-star hotels and where he might hide his assets(资产).When I've got this life pattern, I start my research.

Nine times out of 10, I find the people I'm looking for.I once investigated a lorry supplier who owed £500,000 to a subcontractor(分包商).The subcontractor wanted to find out if it was worth bringing charges against the supplier.I found out the supplier had moved assets to his son, who founded a new company offering the same product. It was all done within the law. There was no money to be got from that operation.

However, I asked the son if I could speak to his father and he told me that his parent was on a long holiday in Spain and wouldn't be back for a while. It didn't take me long to find out that the father wasn't in Spain.

I went back to the son and this time he told me that his father might in Bulgaria, and I found him doing winter sports in a beautiful mountain area.He was living in a big house on a large piece of land he had bought for ?400,000.This was exactly the kind of asset my customer was looking for.
