9.Driving on up to Yosemite with my family was exciting but nerve-racking (神经紧张的).I had never been to such an amazing national park before,yet I wasn't the most athletic person so I knew that I couldn't stick through all the hiking up and down.It actually ended up being a fun and adventurous experience.
The ride there was definitely long but worth it.As I woke up from my nap,I saw the beautiful scenery of the tall mountains and beautiful streams.The trails were made nicely for visitors.The waterfalls were breathtaking.Climbing up rocks was one of my favorite parts.Even though I fell a couple of times,I still have a lot of fun.The fact that my family and I spent so much time together all trying to find out which route to take and what views to watch really brought us closer together.
The great thing about nature is that,it's just you,the views,and the people around you.There's nothing there to bother you and it's the best way to relax and enjoy yourself.Yosemite has 5of the world's highest waterfalls,and about 300lakes.The structure of each mountain is incredible; it's formed in ways that almost take your breath away.Some of them are of a deep dark color with waterfalls forming; some are formed with spots of green peeking (窥探) out.It's definitely something you wouldn't want to miss.Yosemite isn't the only great National Park but based on my experience I highly recommend going out and enjoying nature with family and friends.It's a great time to bond,laugh,and take in what Mother Nature offers.

6.Kids'health:Four steps for fighting stressEverybody gets stressed(有压力的) from time to time.(16)G Some ways of dealing with stress like screaming or hitting someone don't solve much.But other ways,like talking to someone you trust,can lead you to solving your problem or at least feeling better.
Try taking these four steps the next time you are stressed:
(1)Get support.When you need help,reach out to the people who care about you.Talk to a trusted adult,such as a parent or other relatives.(17)AThey might have had similar problems,such as dealing with a test,or the death of a beloved pet.
(2)Don't take it out on yourself.Sometimes when kids are stressed and upset they take it out on themselves.Oh,dear,that's not a good idea.Remember that there are always people to help you.Don't take it out on yourself.(18)F
(3)Try to solve the problem.After you're calm and you have support from adults and friends,it's time to get down to business.(19)D Even if you can't solve it all,you can solve a piece of it.
(4)Be positive.Most stress is temporary(暂时的).Remember stress does go away,especially when you find out the problem and start working on solving it.
These steps aren't magic,but they do work.And if you can stay positive as you make your way through a hard time,you'll help yourself feel better even faster.(20)E

A.And don't forget about your friends.
B.Notice your friends'feelings and find a way to help them.
C.Then,find a way to calm down.
D.You need to find out what the problem is.
E.Ah,it feels so good when the stress is gone.
F.Ask for a helping hand to get you through the hard situation.
G.Different people get rid of stress in different ways.
5.How I Turned to Be Optimistic(乐观的)I began to grow up that winter night when my parents and I were returning from my aunt's house,and my mother said that we might soon be leaving for America.We were on the bus then.I was crying,and some people on the bus were turning around to look at me.I remember that I could not bear the thought of never hearing again the radio program for school children to which I listened every morning.
I do not remember myself crying for this reason again.In fact,I think I cried very little when I was saying goodbye to my friends and relatives.When we were leaving I thought about all the places I was going to see--the strange and magical places I had known only from books and pictures.The country I was leaving never to come back was hardly in my head then.
The four years that followed taught me the importance of optimism,but the idea did not come to me at once.For the first two years in New York I was really lost-having to study in three schools as a result of family moves.I did not quite know what I was or what I should be.Mother remarried,and things became even more complex for me.Some time passed before my stepfather and I got used to each other.I was often sad,and saw no end to"the hard times."
My responsibilities in the family increased a lot since I knew English better than everyone else at home.I wrote letters,filled out forms,translated at interviews with Immigration officers,took my grandparents to the doctor and translated there,and even discussed telephone bills with company representatives(代表).
From my experiences I have learned one important rule:almost all common troubles eventually go away!Something good is certain to happen in the end when you do not give up,and just wait a little!I believe that my life will turn out all right, even though it will not be that easy.

1.One afternoon, after finishing shopping in a supermarket,my family and I went to the checkout.I suddenly thought we didn't need any of the junk, and we abandoned all of those, saving $300.
That got me thinking about all our pointless expenses in life. With a promise that we'd stop if it was killing us,I convinced the family to take the leap into frugality(节俭).The rules were that we would buy nothing for 30 days except absolutely essentials.
Our adventure began with a great start.By 9 a.m.,my wife,Ruth, had already made cakes from old strawberries and picked flowers I didn't even know we had in the garden.I cleared the car by hand for the first time for years.I read and returned the neighbor's newspaper before he woke up.Total spending on the first day:$0.
As days turned into weeks,we became so proficient(熟练的)at living frugally. We started riding our bikes to save gas.My child's finger painting was recycled as gift wrap for the homemade presents. We started to use an Internet application like Skype for free phone calls and ask neighbors with gardens for extra vegetables and herbs.
In the end,we saved more than $2000 by not spending for a month. When we began,I imagined we would rush out the moment we were don e and buy a lot of things in the supermarket, then maybe hit the mall or go to the movies.
