7.How to Make Plans
Most people get scared when talking about planning or writing plans.(36)C.And you need to plan for success as planning really works and inspires you to go straight ahead. However, how to create effective plans is still a problem.Don't worry, and just follow the steps below.
Step 1(37)A
What plans have you had in the past?Probably,in some of your plans, you haven't ended up where you thought you were going to end up.Get a good understanding of what you have done and what you haven't done in the past.It is a primary foundation for your new plan.If having no plan, just take actions and make plans right now.
Step 2 Think about the What-Ifs
When you are building your plans, you should consider where you are going and make clear the What-Ifs.Because not everything just goes smoothly as you believe.(38)G.
Step 3 Document the plans
When starting to make plans, you should try to write them down.It is of key importance for the future.(39)E.In addition, make sure you have the plans fully written out with all the key elements concerned, including details.
Step 4 Update the plans
According to your written plans and actual situation, you should check out the plans you have completed and haven't completed.(40)D.Make sure all the assumptions are there and work out the details. After hanging on for some days, planning will be getting simpler and easier.

A.Review historical plans
B.Make new plans immediately
C.Actually, people are more likely to succeed in a planned way
D.And you need to continue what you haven't done and update it
E.Not all people can memorize every word they said and thought well
F.And what you should do next is to check your plans monthly or quarterly
G.For your benefits, you need to make Plan A and Plan B in case of changes and contingencies(偶发事件).
6.Sometimes you'll hear people say that you can't love others until you love yourself.Sometimes you'll hear people say that you can't expect someone else to love you until you love yourself.Either way,you've got to love yourself first and this can be tricky.Sure we all know that we're the apple of our parents'eyes,and that our Grandmas think we're great talents and our Uncle Roberts think that we will go to the Olympics,but sometimes it's a lot harder to think such nice thoughts about ourselves.If you find that believing in yourself is a challenge,it is time you build a positive self-image and learn to love yourself.
Self-image is your own mind's picture of yourself.This image includes the way you look,the way you act,the way you talk and the way you think.Interestingly,our self-images are often quite different from the images others hold about us.Unfortunately,most of these images are more negative than they should be.Thus changing the way you think about yourself is the key to changing your self-image and your whole world.
The best way to defeat a passive self-image is to step back and decide to stress your successes.That is,make a list if you need to,but write down all of the great things you do every day.Don't allow doubts to occur in it.
It very well might be that you are experiencing a negative self-image because you can't move past one flaw or weakness that you see about yourself.Well,roll up your sleeves and make a change of it as your primary task.If you think you're silly because you aren't good at math,find a tutor.If you think you're weak because you can't run a mile,get to the track and practice.If you think you're dull because you don't wear the latest trends,buy a few new clothes.But remember,just because you think it doesn't mean it's true.
The best way to get rid of a negative self-image is to realize that your image is far from objective,and to actively convince yourself of your positive qualities.Changing the way you think and working on those you need to improve will go a long way towards promoting a positive self-image.When you can pat yourself on the back,you'll know you're well on your way.Good luck!

32.You need to build a positive self-image when youC.

5.Children's lives have changed greatly over the last 50 years. But do they have a happier childhood than you or I did?
It's difficult to look back on one's own childhood without some element of nostalgia(怀旧的).I have four brothers and sisters,and my memories are all about being with them,playing board games on the living room floor,or spending days in the street with the other neighborhood children,racing up and down on our bikes,or exploring the nearby woods.My parents hardly appear in these memories,except as providers either of meals or of severe blame after some particularly risky adventure.
These days,in the UK at least,the nature of childhood has changed greatly.Firstly,families are smaller,and there are far more only children.It is common for both parents to work outside the home and there is the feeling that there just isn't time to bring up a large family,or that no one could possibly afford to have more than one child.As a result,today's boys and girls spend much of their time alone.Another major change is that youngsters today tend to spend a huge amount of their free time at home,inside.More than anything this is due to the fact that parents worry far more than they used to about real or imagined dangers,so they wouldn't dream of letting their children play outside by themselves.
Finally,the kind of toys children have and the way they play is totally different.Computer and video games have replaced the board games and more interesting activities of my childhood.The irony(令人啼笑皆非的事情)is that so many ways of playing games are called"interactive."The fact that you can play electronic games on your own further increases the sense of loneliness felt by many young people today.
Do these changes mean that children today have a less relaxing childhood than I had?I personally believe that they do,but perhaps every generation feels exactly the same.

28.What is the purpose of the direct question given in the first paragraph?B
A.To compare the childhood lives of two generations.
B.To get people's attention and lead in the topic.
C.To gather people's opinions on childhood.
D.To show who the passage is written for.
29.Which is a reason for the changes?A
A.Parents worried too much about their children.
B.Children play more interactive games.
C.It's too dangerous to play outside.
D.Families are bigger today.
30.What does the writer focus on in the fourth paragraph?C
A.Young people today shouldn't play electronic games.
B.Computer and video games have replaced the board games.
C.Some games that young people play today aren't really good.
D.Board games are much more interesting than computer games.
31.The writer's attitude towards the childhood changing isD.
A.approving           B.optimistic         C.unconcerned            D.objective.
4.My favorite English teacher could draw humor out of the driest material.It wasn't forced on us either.He took Samuel Johnson's dictionary,Addison's essays,and many other literary wonders from the eighteenth century and made them hilarious,even at eight o'clock in the morning.The thing that amazed me most was that the first time I read these works on my own some of them seemed dead,but the second time,after his explanation,I couldn't believe that I hadn't seen the humor.The stories and poems and plays were suddenly filled with allusions(典故) and irony and hilarious moments.I learned more from him than from any other teacher.
My least favorite English teacher also made people laugh.Some students found him to be wonderfully funny.Many others did not.He assigned journals over a six-week-period,to be written in every day.At the end of the six weeks I had a notebook full of bits and pieces about my ideas,short stories and reactions to what we had read,and so on.Our teacher announced that we would be grading each other's journals.Mine was passed to Joe,that class clown,who always behaved in a funny or silly way.He saw it fit to make joke of and said,"This writing isn't fit to line the bottom of a birdcage."Our teacher laughed at that funny remark.It hurt me so much that the anger from it has driven my writing and teaching ever since.
So what makes the difference?Humor is one of the most powerful tools teachers or writers have.It can build up students and classes and make them excited about literature and writing,or it can tear them apart.It is true that humor is either productive or counter-productive and self-defeating.

B.the works by Johnson and Addison were very humorous
C.his teacher was very humorous
D.his teacher was very learned
27.The English teacher the writer disliked mostA.
A.hurt his students'feelings
C.was not able to make students laugh
B.had no sense of humor
D.didn't let his students do the grading.

1.Homework is a major part of going to school:It's your teachers'way of evaluating(评价)how much you understand of what's going on in class.(36)C  Luckily,you can do a few things to make homework less work.
Be sure you understand the homework.
Write your homework down in your notebook or day planner if you need to.(37)EIt's much easier to take a minute to ask the teacher during or after class than to struggle to remember later that night!
Use any extra time in school.
Many schools have study halls that are specifically designed to allow students to study. It's tempting(诱惑)to hang out with friends during study periods or unstructured(松散的)time.(38)G
Take a break.
(39)DSo take some breaks while doing your homework.Sitting for too long without stretching or relaxing will make you less productive than if you stop every so often.Taking a 15 minute break every hour is a good idea for most people.
(40)A
If you don't finish your homework during school, think about how much you have left and what else is going on that day,and then budget your time. Most highschool students have between 1 and 3 hours of homework a night. If it's a heavy homework day and you've got an assignment in every subject, you'll need to devote more time to homework. It's a good idea to come up with some kind of homework schedule, especially if you are involved in sports or activities or have an afterschool job.

A.Make a homework schedule.
B.Settle down to do homework.
C.And it helps digest important concepts.
D.Most people's attention spans (跨度) aren't very long.
E.Don't be afraid to ask questions about what's unknown.
F.Once your homework is done,you can check over it if you have extra time.
G.But the more work you can get done in school,the less you'll have to do that night.
20.Every day,hundreds of thousands of us visit coffee shops.While we drink our coffee,we may connect our smartphone to the shop's Wi-Fi network,and keep in touch with friends via services such as Facebook.
As well as socializing,we may use the time and free access to a wireless connection to get on top of our finances.Transferring money from your account to others'accounts is nothing more than a few taps on your screen.
But what coffee drinkers do not realize is that lurking(潜伏) among their fellow coffee-lovers are bank robbers.
Unknown to you,this modern form of bank robber is silently collecting all your private data.The only sign of his thievery is perhaps a little smile as your bank log-in details appear on his screen.
You'll only realize when you later go to a cash machine to withdrawsome money, and discover that every penny in your account has been cleared out.
The common method for thieves is to use your smartphone's Wi-Fi connection.They rely on the fact that most of us are not careful about the security of networks we connect to.
For example,when you are in a coffee shop,your smartphone will present you with a list of available Wi-Fi networks that you can use to connect your phone to the Internet.Most of these networks are run by legitimate(合法的)companies,but sometimes they are actually created by a thief sitting nearby with little more than a laptop.
These networks are often given names,such as"Free Public Wi-Fi",which deceive smartphone users into logging in.On the surface,everything seems normal,and you will be able to connect just as you are with a legitimate Wi-Fi service.
However,because you have connected to a network controlled by a thief,he can monitor (监视) everything you do,enabling him to collect passwords and log-in details about your bank account.

28.The underlined phrase"get on top of"can be replaced byA.

B.It's easy for you to tell bank robbers from other coffee drinkers.

D.All the networks available in a coffee shop are illegal.
30.What's the author's attitude towards Wi-Fi traps?C
A.Positive.B.Negative.C.Objective.D.Indifferent.
