5.I drove to a local supermarket the other day.My shopping list was (41)long and my wallet was light.Still,I needed to get a week's worth of groceries for my family.I parked my car, looked down at my list, and hoped I could (42)afford it all.
As I (43)approached the door,I saw a man with kind eyes and a gentle (44)smile.He said he was collecting for a local food bank that helped to (45)feed the hungry in my area.He handed me a second shopping list of things they could use and asked me to(46)help if I could I smiled back, took the (47)list and walked into the store.I really wanted to help, but wasn't sure if I could this time.
I walked through the store, picking up vegetables, soup, spaghetti, bread, milk, cereal, macaroni, bananas, and a dozen other things.I slowly (48)marked each item off my list until I was done. When I looked down at my full cart I (49)wondered again if I even had enough to pay for it all. Then,as I put my own list back into my pocket,I saw the food (50)bank list under it.I smiled and decided to trust my heart.
With the food bank in mind,I went over and (51)pickedup two of the biggest boxes of rice the store had and put them in my cart.It took(52)another six dollars out of my wallet to pay for them,(53)butmy heart felt six times larger when I did.And when everything was (54)totaled,I had just enough to pay for it all.
It (55)takes so little to make our world a better place.A few dollars can help to fill a child's (56)hungry belly(肚子).A smile and hug can help to (57)heal a hurting heart. An encouraging word can inspire someone else to live and to love.A random (58)act of kindness can change another's day and life.It is up to us,though(59)though.If we can (60)save a few dollars on rice, then we can share a love that will last forever.

4.The Little Angel
Sally jumped up the moment she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She asked."How is my little boy?"
The surgeon said,"I'm (41)sorry.We did all we could, but your boy didn'tmake(42)makeit."
Sally (43)sankinto the chair. The surgeon asked,"Would you like some time with your son before he was transported to the (44)university?"Sally nodded. While saying goodbye, she ran her fingers(45)lovingly through his thick curly hair."Would you like a lock of his hair?"the surgeon asked.Sally nodded yes.The surgeon cut a few hairs, and handed them to Sally. The mother said,"It was Jimmy's idea to(46)donate his body to the university for study. He said it might (47)helpsomebody else.I said no at first,(48)but Jimmy said,‘Mom,I won't be using it after I die.Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.'"
"My Jimmy had a heart of (49)gold,always thinking of someone else, always wanting to help others if he could"she went on.
Sally walked out of the hospital. She put the bag with Jimmy's (50)belongings on the seat beside her in the car.The drive home was (51)difficult.It was even harder to enter the (52)empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the lock of his hair to her son's room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room(53)exactly where he had always kept thern. She lay down across his bed and, hugging his pillow,(54)cried herself to sleep.
It was around midnight when Sally (55)awoke.Lying beside her on the bed was a letter. The letter said,
"Dear Mom.
I know you're going to (56)miss me,and me too.I will always love you,Mom,even more (57)witheach passing day.Someday we will see each other again.Until then,if you want to (58)adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely. That's OK with me.He can have my room and old toys to play with.
Don't be sad thinking about me.I don't hurt any more. The cancer is all (59)gone I don't have to stand that (60)pain any more. The angels in Heaven are so tender. They say I'm a Special Angel!I love you,Mom."
