That morning, I stepped into the classroom, ready to share my knowledge and experience with seventy-five students who would be my English Literature class. Having taught in 1for seventeen years, I had no 2 about my ability to hold their attention and to 3on them my admiration for the literature of my mother tongue.
I was shocked when the monitor shouted, " 4!" The entire class rose as I entered the room, and I was somewhat 5about how to get them to sit down again, but once that awkwardness was over, I quickly 6my calmness and began what I thought was a fact-packed lecture, sure to gain their respect—perhaps 7their admiration. I went back to my office with the rosy glow which came from a sense of achievement.
My students 8diaries. However, as I read them, the rosy glow was gradually 9 by a strong sense of sadness. The first diary said, "Our literature teacher didn’t teach us anything today. 10her next lecture will be better." Greatly surprised, I read diary after diary, each expressing a 11theme. "Didn’t I teach them anything? I described the entire philosophical framework of Western thought and laid the historical 12 for all the works we’ll study in class," I complained." How _13 they say I didn’t teach them anything?"
It was a long term, and it 14 became clear that my ideas about education were not the same as_15of my students. I thought a teacher’s job was to raise  16questions and provide enough background so that students could 17their own conclusions. My students thought a teacher’s job was to provide _18information as directly and clearly as possible. What a difference!
19, I also learned a lot, and my experience with my Chinese students has made me a 20American teacher, knowing how to teach in a different culture.

You must have heard these words like how happy it is to be a child. But would you 1 change places with a child? Think of the years at school: the years 2 living in constant fear of examinations and school 3. Every movement you make, every thought you think is 4 by some adults. Think of the 5 you had to go to bed early, you had to eat 6 thing that was supposed to be good for you. Remember 7 “gentle” pressure was given to you with words like “If you don’t do as I say, I will…”. I’m sure you will never forget!
8 these are only part of child’s 9. No matter how kind and loving parents may be, children often 10 from some terrible and illogical 11 since they can’t understand the world around them. They often have such fears in the dark or in the dream. Adults can 12 their fears with other adults 13 children have to face their fears alone.
But the most 14 part of childhood is a period when you 15 to go out of it, the period when you go into adolescence(youth).Teenagers start to be 16 their parents and this causes them great 17. There is a complete lack of self-confidence during this time. Adolescents pay much attention to their 18 and the impression they make on others. They  feel shy, awkward and clumsy(笨拙的). Feelings are strong and hearts 19 broken. Teenagers 20 moments of great happiness or black despair. And through this period, adults seem to be more unkind than ever.

Once upon a time there lived an old man in a nice cottage with a large garden. The old man was seen 1 his flowers all the time. They were so well-tended that every passer-by could not but 2 for a glance.
One day a young man went by the garden. He gazed at the splendid garden, lost in admiration at the beauty of the scenery. Then, suddenly he 3 the old gardener was blind.4, the young man asked, “Why are you busy tending these flowers every day which you can’t 5 in fact?” The old man smiled and answered that “ I can tell you 6 reasons. First I was a 7 when I was young, and I really like this job. Second, although I can’t see these flowers, yet I can 8them. Third,I can smell sweetness of them. As to the last one, that’s 9.
“Me? But you don’t know me,” responded the young man 10.
“Yeah, it’s 11 that I don’t know you. But I know everyone knows flowers and would never turn them down. I know the beauty of my garden will get many people into a good mood(心情). In the meantime, it also 12 a chance to me to have a word with you here and to enjoy the happiness these flowers have brought us.”
The old man’s 13 astonished me. The blind man grows flowers and serves them as a link of minds so as to make everybody enjoy the sunshine in spring. Isn’t it one kind of happiness?
I believe every flower has 14 with which they can see the kindness of the man’s heart. The blind man grows flowers in his heart. Though 15 to see the beauty of blossoming, he surely can hear the voice of it, I suppose.

“Daddy, can I have a piece of cake?” my oldest son asked me.
We had just been to the gym and stopped to 1 at the restaurant.
“No,” I replied, “you don’t need a piece of cake.”
My son 2 15 in a few days. He 3 over 6 feet tall. He is very slim and athletic in shape. It was not always that way. My wife wrote a book about the challenge and 4 of getting him fit. He now takes it 5 and looks as he’s never been overweight in his life.
He had a full plate of 6 and tofu. He didn’t need a piece of cake. Besides, everything in the restaurant is quite 7. Our dinners could have 8
He was 9 as he looked at the delicious cakes. I had forgotten that I had walked over to the cake shelf while he was 10 his food from the buffet (自助餐).
I looked at my 11. There sitting on the edge was a piece of 12. I looked at it wondering but also knowing how it got there. “We will divide it,” I said.
A few days later my oldest son was with me again. We stopped at a 13. He ordered a sandwich. I then 14 two sandwiches. He immediately barked, “Can I have two?” He wanted exactly what Daddy had.
Your kids are very likely to put on their plates, exactly what you have on yours, and I think this applies to more than food. Keep your 15 plate with only what you want your kinds to have.

My little son Logan had cerebral palsy(脑瘫). I should thank Tri-North Buiders, in which I was working, for 1him. Four years ago, Tri-North Buiders 2a daycare center called Little Buiders Day School. Little Buiders had 10 3 ranging in age from 6 weeks to 5 years, with three full-time teachers and a part-time teacher 4 there. All the four teachers helped Logan with his daily 5, including feeding, walking and playing.
6 Logan couldn’t speak, the teachers 7 with him through pictures. Logan was then 8 in all activities, such as art projects, plays, field trips, ect . Many things were centered 9Logan.
Later, when Logan recovered to be almost like a 10child and was preparing for his transition(过渡,转变)to the public school, the daycare workers worked with the school to ensure a(n)11transition. Not only was Logan12by the school, but the non-disabled children there were not surprised by Logan’s special 13, which made Little Builders a perfect place to help today’s children 14people like Logan.
I used to spend a lot of time in the daycare center. When Logan first began to learn to eat, he 15ate with me or his father around . It was not 16for me to carry Logan about while feeding him. I know that Logan would not be doing as 17 as he does now if not18Tri-North Buiders Company. In a world of making money at all 19, I think you should know about the company making a(n)20

Seeing this, his 19 came and asked him what happened. He told them that the fruit from his tree was not what he wanted. When the neighbors heard this, they did not know whether to 20 or comfort him, for what he planted years ago was not a mango tree. We can only reap(收获)what we plant.

I am a team leader in an insurance company. We are going through a lot of changes right now, which is 1 much stress for all of us.
A few weeks ago I was having a day so 2 that I even doubted if I had the ability to do this challenging work, and was about ready to change to a less stressful job 3. Something happened that day to change my way of 4 and I am so appreciative of this young lady. I want to let her know that the small act 5 .
On the top of my cubicle (工作隔间) I have a small collection of lighthouses (灯塔) to let people know where I am sitting 6 my team members have to find me for emergencies.
That day I came into the office and was about to get the day 7 when Crystal came over. I asked if she needed anything. And she said, “I 8 you something.” I looked at her with a 9 look and said, “Well, thank you, but why 10 you buy me anything?” I had never spoke to this young lady 11. She said, “Every day I stand up and look across the 12 and see your lighthouses. Then I feel I am not alone and I encourage myself that there are always 13 things in life. I saw this on the way to work and thought 14 would like it. I wish it would have the same 15 as your lighthouses do.” In her hand she had a small globe with a lighthouse and a ship on it. I gave her a hug and 16 her. I don’t think she knows how much that small act of 17 changed my day: I remained 18 the rest of the day.
For anyone that reads this, I hope you remember, no matter what the 19 is, you could change someone’s day, 20 even his views on life.
