根据前句中的become a responsible, respectful adult. A child who learns to respect说明这里讨论的都是尊敬在生活中的重要作用,故C项内容Respect is necessary for a meaningful and successful life符合上下文.
The more you say"please"and"thank you"可知"please"and"thank you"都是礼貌用语. Teach manners by using polite requests and responses.
本段标题Agree to disagree. Try to remember that a child won't always agree with you"孩子不会总是同意你的意见"内容吻合,故选B.
根据前句keep in mind that you are supposed to be modelling correct behaviour可知你的一些好的行为也许会被模仿,由此判断D项If he sees you lose your temper,he is more likely to respond that way in future."如果我们发脾气,孩子看见了,他们以后也会模仿这样的行为",内容符合上下文,选D.
40.F 考查对上下文的理解和推理判断能力.本段中心是Praise, praise, praise!也就是说要表扬孩子的优秀之处,由此判断F项Seeing a child exhibit respectful behavior, make sure he knows how proud you are of him."告诉孩子为他们感到自豪"符合上下文,选F.

20.You are the collector in the gallery of your life. You collect. You might not mean to but you do.One out of three people collects tangible things such as cats, photos and noisy toys.
These are among some 40 collections that are being shown at"The Museum Of"-the first of several new museums which, over the next two years, will exhibit the objects accumulated(积累)by unknown collectors. In doing so,they will promote(推动)a popular culture of museums, not what museums normally represent(代表).
Some of the collections are fairly common-records,model houses.Others are strangely beautiful-branches that have fallen from tree, for example. But they all reveal (显露)a lot of things:ask someone what they collect and their answers will tell you who they are.
Others on the way include"The museum of Collectors"and"The Museum of Me."These new ones,it is hoped, will build on the success of"The Museum Of."The thinkers behind the project want to explore why people collect, and what it means to do so.They hope that visitors who may not have considered themselves collectors will begin to see they, too, collect.

4.How much physical activity do you get?As a teenager,physical activity is important,not just for your future health but for looking and feeling your best now.How active you are early in life may affect how ableminded you are late in life.That was the finding of a new study of cognitive impairment (认知障碍),or a loss in mental abilities.
The study involved more than nine thousand women in the United States over the age of sixtyfive.They answered questions about their level of physical activity as teenagers and at age thirty,fifty and late in life.
Laura Middleton of the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Center in Canada led the study.Laura Middleton said,"People who were physically active on a regular basis had lower risk of cognitive impairments in late life.And it seemed that teenage physical activity was particularly important in terms of the prevention of cognitive impairments."
Laura Middleton noted two longlasting effects that physical activity can have on teenagers.Exercise could help strengthen the blood vessels(血管) that carry blood and oxygen to the brain.Also,physical activity is known to improve the brain's ability to repair itself.Moreover,she noted that doing exercise is good for psychological development.
The study is in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.Women who said they were physically active even once a week showed less cognitive impairment as measured by a test.There was not a strong link between the amount of physical activity and the seriousness of impairment.But the link was strongest among those who were active as teenagers.
Laura Middleton says other studies of exercise and cognitive skills have found a stronger link in women than in men.Still,she says,there is no reason to suggest that the finding about teenage physical activity should not apply to men as well.

A.People surveyed are all physically active.
B.It was carried out online.
C.Most people surveyed are elderly ladies.
D.It is a worldwide study.
23.We can infer from the last paragraph thatB.
