½â´ð Dear Tom£¬
From your letter I know that you spend most of your time studying and hardly talk to your classmates£®You feel quite lonely and wish to have good friends!I think your problem is mainly about confidence£®Don't be shy£®Look at your classmates£®Are there any people with whom you feel you have a lot in common£¿£¨¸ß·Ö¾äÐÍ£©
First of all£¬you must smile at your classmates£®One smile speaks louder about your wish to make friends than any words£®
The next thing to do is try to talk to your classmates£®The best time to do this is between classes or during your lunch break£®You may find it easier to start by talking to people when they are alone£¬instead of in a group£®£¨¸ß·Ö¾äÐÍ£©
Smile first£¬talk next and slowly you will make friends£®Once you have more confidence£¬you can make as many friends as you want£®£¨¸ß·Ö¾äÐÍ£©

I met him many years ago while doing my internship £¨ÊµÏ°£©in the county prison£®He was£¨36£©B a program he had designed to help prisoners with drug and alcohol problems£®He was always£¨37£©A new ways to bring hope and help to these men and their£¨38£©B£®
One of his favorite£¨39£©C was the Toy Drive he would run every Christmas for the children of the prisoners£®He did this for twenty years£¨40£©A his sudden death£®As last Christmas £¨41£©D£¬I decided that this tradition had to be £¨42£©C£¬for the children as well as the £¨43£©B of my friend£®
But the file where he kept the names of the people who had helped him over the years had gone£¨44£©D£®I had to start anew£¨ÖØУ©and with very little £¨45£©B!I started making phones calls£¬explaining about the project and my £¨46£©A£®I prayed every night that the event would£¬£¨47£©D£¬be worthy of my friend£®
To my great£¨48£©D£¬individuals£¬churches and businesses began to come on board and£¬£¨49£©B£¬I had enough toys to give to all the children of the prisoners with some left over for the local community£¨50£©A!
When Christmas Eve finally arrived£¬I felt very happy£¬thinking I had done all I could do and reflecting on what a£¨n£©£¨51£©B it had been for me£®I was bagging up the remaining toys£¨52£©A if there was anyone left who might like them£®Then my phone rang£®
It was my daughter£®She£¨53£©C to explain about a woman she knew in Kentucky who had five children£¬one seriously ill£¬no husband£¬no heating in the home£¬no toys!
Ohh--how could we not£¿
My daughter and I drove all night£¬from New York to Kentucky£¬and those children woke up in a nice warm house with plenty of£¨54£©D!
My friend's£¨55£©B of kindness lived on that year£¬reaching all the way to Kentucky!
