The aim of the O. Henry Museum is to collect, preserve, and interpret artifacts，works and archival (档案的) materials relative to the author, for literary educational, and historical purposes that are accessible to the public. The museum was set up in 1934, under the authority of the City of Austin, and is both a National Register Property and a National Literary Landmark.

The O. Henry Museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 5:00 pm. Admission is free. Tours are also available for free. Please contact the museum at least one week in advance to schedule a tour for a group of 10 or more. Metered parking is available on the street in front of the museum. The museum’s gift shop has for sale T-shirts, coffee mugs, DVDs, and an array of books by and about O. Henry.

【题目】As a videogame producer, John Day has created popular games such as “Meet the Robinsons”, “Car 2” and “Toy Story 3”.

When he was young, Day spent lots of time playing videogames, but getting game ideas from his imagination to the screen required plenty of technical know-how, too. However, Day says, “Each time he caught me playing games as a kid, his trademark phrase was, ‘You’re never going to amount to anything, wasting all that time on these videogames.’”

“I built my first PC when I was 11,” Day says, “and I never really stopped.”

While studying business management in college, Day also worked as a game tester. Both his education and job experience help him now as he comes up with new ideas, meets deadlines and solves problems.

A videogame producer is in charge of a game’s development from beginning to end. Day says, “All producers have to be designers, at least a little bit.” Another part of Day’s job is getting things done on time and within budget. “We have to create a product before a certain date, and it takes work to get there.” Sometimes that can be a challenge. Problems come up often when he’s working on a game, and in his fast-paced industry, missing a deadline is not allowed.

In his job, Day answers to many people who are expecting high-quality games. That’s a lot of responsibility, but Day believes these demands help him do his job better. Part of the excitement for him is not just playing a game, but also being able to share it with others.

“With a finished product, it’s really great to finally be able to sit down with my friends and family, and say, ‘Look, this is what I’ve been doing all this time. Let’s play it together.’”
