【答案】Dear Alex,

I’m sorry to hear that you feel anxious before exams, which is actually quite nutural among students. But this situation can be easily changed if you take my advice.

Above all, you should keep a good state of mind. That is to say, you need to have confidence in yourself and look at everything positively. Additionally, it is advisable for you to listen to music, take exercise and communicate with your friends, which helps to get rid of pressure. Last but not least, what really matters is to keep trying and never give up.

I hope you will find these ideas useful.

Yours sincerely,

Li Hua

【题目】Directions: After reading the passage below, fill in the blanks to make the passage coherent and grammatically correct. For the blanks with a given word, fill in each blank with the proper form of the given word; for the other blanks, use one word that best fits each blank.

I used to hate waiting in line, thinking of it as a big waste of time and a test on my patience, but 1(live) in Israel for three years, I have changed my attitude toward it.

Probably because the country is not very big, with limited resources, 2 you’re at the bank, the post office or the bus stop, you’ll always find a straight line of people waiting. But instead of worrying or hurrying some are drinking hot coffee; 3 are chatting to each other, even though a minute ago they were just strangers.

4 seemed to me that they were enjoying queuing and taking the chance to relax.

Gradually I came to realize that 5 (obey) rules, which can be clearly seen in queuing up, is an important part of their culture. Once I saw a young foreigner trying to jump the queue and be shouted at by an old Israeli man, with others joining in. The poor guy was so ashamed6 he slipped away as fast as he could.

But don’t think Israeli people are cruel. If you have to leave for a short time, 7 the person behind you agrees, you can always come back and stand in front of him or her. However, if you miss him or her, you’ll have to start over. If you wait next to the basketball court or tennis court for more than five minutes, someone on the court will definitely offer 8(switch) places with you. This has become part of the culture in Israel.

Their culture 9 (reflect) Israelis’ belief in equal opportunities, which may have played a role in helping Israel to stay on its feet in the world even after the cruel Holocaust.

Compared 10 Israel, our way of queuing up is much more casual. People always go out of their way to get the “privilege” of a shorter wait.

【题目】 If you want to live longer, live around green space.

That’s the simple conclusion of the largest analysis ever performed on the relationship between the environment and human health—ever. Eight million people. Seven countries. One simple finding:

“When you are exposed to greenery or greenness around your home, your probability to die is less compared to those with less greenness around their home,” says David Rojas, researcher at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health. And he was the main author of the study, which was published in The Lancet Planet Health teaming up with the World Health Organization.

Specifically, the research team found that for every 10% increase in plants cover that’s within 1,600 feet of your home, your probability of death drops by 4%.

Those hard numbers are the result of a large metastudy(元研究) analyzing nine separate studies about longevity and green space that looked at how and how long people lived over long periods of time. Subjects were from countries around the globe, too: Australia, Canada, China, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and the U. S.

As Rojas explained, in every country, the finding was the same. People who lived near more green space lived longer than people who lived near less. This green space can be grass, trees, or gardens. It can be public or private space.

He also explained, The study didn’t discriminate(歧视), nor did it have the accurate data to show that some plants were better for our health than others.
