10.Airport Delays on the Rise
Delays cause extreme anger among travelers, and cost the country billions in lost productivity.
An FAA study listed eleven major problems and suggested eleven solutions. All problems are in air traffic control. The various regions(地区)don't talk to each other enough. Each region operates differently and the number of planes in so-called regional traffic is increasing.
In the first of eleven solutions,an FAA national center will take control from the regions during heavy traffic or bad weather.
Jane Garvey of the FAA says,"The purpose of the command(指挥)center is to really make those decisions that affect the system in total."Also, the FAA promises publicly again to upgrade its computers.
Michael Barr is a safety expert at the University of Southern California,"We've got fares that are reduced.More people want to fly and we are actually filling the air of the United States with air traffic."
An example of this is that the San Francisco International Airport is growing fast as a world-wide gateway and as a center to an expanded(扩展的)regional service.
Ron Wilson of the San Francisco International Airport says,"If we've got 16,17,18 aircraft, departing at 8 a.m.,the guy that is on the 18th plane is going to be 40 minutes late."
Jane Garvey says,"It's important to note that flying is more popular. It's becoming a form of public transportation for a number of people. That's having an effect on the delay numbers as well."
Weather causes about 70% of delays. Then the FAA moves planes farther apart from five miles to as much as 20 miles. The new rule may reduce that to 10 miles. But if the sky is already crowded, where do those planes go?
A traveler says,"Naturally,I think the more space between planes, the safer for travelers."
The FAA calls it an improvement, not a final solution. The public say the major problems remain:too many planes, too few controllers and too little modernization.
44.According to the FAA study, the biggest problem leading to airport delays lies inC.

D.the increasing passenger numbers
45.What is the writer's attitude towards reducing the space between planes?A
A.Doubtful
B.Supportive
C.Confident

46.It can be inferred from the passage thatB.
A.the FAA will take control from the regions according to their requirements

7.Last year,CCTV journalists approached pedestrians with their cameras,held a microphone to their mouth and asked a simple question,"Are you happy?"
The question has caught many interviewees off guard.Even Mo Yan,who just won a Nobel Prize,responded by saying,"I don't know."
While the question has become a buzz phrase and the Internet plays host to heated discussions,we ask:What exactly is happiness? And how do you measure it?
In the 1776US Declaration of Independence,Thomas Jefferson set in writing the people's unalienable right to"Life,Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness".235years on,Wen Jiabao told the nation,"Everything we do is aimed at letting people live more happily."At National People's Congress,officials agreed that increasing happiness would be a top target for the 12thfive-year plan.
US psychologist Ed Diener,author of Happiness:Unlocking the Mysteries of Psychological Wealth,describes happiness as"a combination of life satisfaction and having more positive than negative emotions"according to US broadcasting network PBS.This may sound straightforward enough,but it still doesn't explain what determines people's happiness.
Many argue that happiness is elusive and that there is no single source.It also means different things to different people.For some,happiness can be as simple as having enough cash.
Researchers believe happiness can be separated into two types:daily experiences of hedonic (享乐的) well-being; and evaluative well-being,the way people think about their lives as a whole.The former refers to the quality of living,whereas the latter is about overall happiness,including life goals and achievements.Happiness can cross both dimensions (范围).
Li Jun,a psychologist and mental therapy practitioner at a Beijing clinic,says,"Happiness can mean both the most basic human satisfaction or the highest level of spiritual pursuit.It's a simple yet profound topic."
Chen Shangyuan,21,a junior English major at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics,said his idea of happiness always evolves."At present it relates to how productive I am in a day,"he said."It might be linked to job security or leisure time after I graduate."
Then there is the question of measuring happiness.Does it depend on how many friends we have,or whether we own the latest smart phone? Is it even quantifiable?
Economists are trying to measure happiness in people's lives.Since 1972,Bhutan's GDP measurement has been replaced by a Gross National Happiness index.It is calculated according to the peoples'sense of being well-governed,their relationship with the environment,their satisfaction with economic development,and their sense of national belonging.
In 2009,US economist Joseph Stiglitz proposed"to shift emphasis from measuring economic production to measuring people's well-being".But is well-being more easily measured?

18.A safari park is a park in which wild animals are kept.They are mainly located in east or central Africa.They often occupy a very wild area,with mountains and rivers.To visit the park and look at the animals,people have to drive around in a car for a few of hours because the park is huge.
In south Africa there is a safari park, which contains all sorts of wild animals like lions, elephants, rhinoceroses, zebras, wild pigs, deer and giraffes.
There is a wild road leading through the park,but nobody is permitted to walk on the road.Anyone traveling in the park has to go in a car because wild animals may fiercely attack people.From the car he may see almost every types of African wildlife.Some of these are getting rare because people kill them for various reasons.For example,rhinoceroses are killed for their horns,which are used in traditional Chinese medicines for colds and headaches.Perhaps they will be seen only in museums and books one day.
Travels may purchase food for the animals.They can feed them when they tour the park.Of course,they should not feed them in a close distance because the wild animals may attack people.In addition,they should only give proper food to the animals.
A traveler may carry a gun with him in his journey.The gun is given to him by the government.However,it is not used for hunting.In fact,a seal(封条) is fixed to it.The traveler may fire at a wild beast to defend himself in case he is attacked.However,he has to prove to the government that he has been attacked and that he has not fired at a harmless animal.

5.It's good to make mistakes,and here is why.First of all,mistakes are a clear sign that you are trying new things.It's always good to try new things because when you are trying new things you are growing.If you never try anything new,how can you improve?How can you expand?The simple answer is"You can't."Look around you.With very few exceptions,either every-thing you see in your world or every single detail of every single thing is the result of someone trying something new.
Another good thing about mistakes is this:When you are making mistakes,you are learning.Consider this:Edison failed 10,000times before he perfected the 1ight bulb.When asked how it felt to fail that many times,he said that he hadn't failed 10,000times,but rather had learned 10,000things that didn't work.
Finally,when you make a mistake you are much closer to success.Why?Because when all is said and done,you will have tried some numbers of things before you succeed.Every time you make a mistake you eliminate one of those things and are one step closer.But this all doesn't mean that you should go ahead without considering the consequences(后果)of a mistake.Quite the contrary,when you try something new you have to be willing to set some reasonable limits so that in the event that it doesn't work out the way you want it to,you will he in a position to try again.
We all have limited time and money so don't blow them all on one approach to a problem.Realize that it probably won't be perfect the first time and allocate(分配)these resources properly so you can learn,make corrections,and try it again.If you accept and use your mistakes in this way,you can make great progress in your business and your career.
There is an old saying that goes,"If you're not making mistakes,you're not trying hard enough."So go ahead and make mistakes.And learn.And grow.And succeed.

28.From the second paragraph,we can conclude thatD.
A.mistakes are unnecessary for development  B.we are afraid of trying new thing

C.taking consequences into consideration1   D.trying things out one by one
31.What would the writer probably suggest we say to ourselves when we make a mistake?C

Helping him out surely made his day,but what he didn't know is that he affected me in a way he could never imagine-I still think about him very often,and I just hope everyone will look at old people the way I do.
