Nowadays, study has put a heavy burden on students. Students need to get up early every morning . They must not only study very hard in school in the daytime but also stay up late to finish their homework at night..

There are many causes of these phenomena. Maybe the most important one is the pressure they may face in life in the future. On the other hand, parents and teachers expect too much of them. Because they think nowadays the social competition is so intense that they won’t succeed in the future unless they get university diplomas. So students burn the midnight oil for they don’t want to be losers at the critical moment.

Though the problem of study burden has been talked about for a long time, it seems that it has become more serious and it does harm to students physically and mentally. Therefore it’s high time for us to do something to ease its effect. First, the Education Department should take severe measures to limit the amount of students’ daily homework. Teachers should reform their classroom activities to make full use of the time in class. Besides, students should improve their learning efficiency. In this way, the problem may finally be solved.
