A teacher once told each of her students to bring a clear plastic bag and a sack of potatoes to school. For every person whom they refuse to forgive in their life¡¯s experience, they chose a potato, wrote on it the person¡¯s name and date, and put it in the plastic bag. Some of their bags were quite heavy. They were then told to carry this bag with them everywhere for one week, putting it beside their bed at night, on the car seat when driving, next to their desk at work.

The trouble of lugging this around with them made it clear what a weight they were carrying spiritually, and how they had to pay attention to it all the time to not forget and keep leaving it in embarrassing places. Naturally, the condition of the potatoes rotted to a nasty smelly slime(ð¤Òº). This was a great example for the price we pay for keeping our pain and heavy negativity(Ïû¼«ÐÔ)! Too often we think of forgiveness as a gift to the other person, and it clearly is for ourselves£¡

The story tells us that a teacher tried a fantastic way to make her students understand that forgiveness is not only a gift to others but is also benificial to ourselves.(31 words)

As is often the case, in our everyday contact people may sometimes misunderstand or offend each other intentionally or unintentionally due to different tastes, opinions and beliefs, which may cause conflict or even hatred. It¡¯s also true that around us there are some really unpleasant, offensive people whom we may not put up with. But if we don¡¯t forgive them and adopt a prejudiced attitude towords them, they would be just like that bag of rotted, smelly potatoes, a tiresome weight we are carrying spiritually.

So in my opinion, we should learn to forgive and try to get along harmoniously with everyone else. I quite agree with the teacher, who thinks of forgiveness as a gift for ourselves, because if we don¡¯t forgieve, we will always bear a burden on our minds.(131 words)

Everyone must receive education from teachers at school or at university. Think about all the teachers who have taught you. Can you find which one is your favorite? And the reason? Are the teachers you liked best also the ones who were the most excellent teachers with good qualities? Before you read the following paragraphs, think about what qualities make a teacher extraordinary (ÓÅÐãµÄ).
Most people will say that the several important qualities of a teacher are that he should love his students, that he needs to have an expert knowledge of his subject, and that he should devote himself to his jobs whole ¨C heartedly. All of these can be the good qualities of a teacher but not all.
As we all know, it is impossible for a teacher to love every one of his students that he teaches in his life. Teachers must try their best to make most of their students interested in the subject so that they are able to teach themselves in the future. This requires teachers to master many teaching skills, which include how to control a class and so on. Teachers have to spend much time and energy on their work. However, students also imitate many things of the teacher, so it is also important for teachers to be well ¨C balanced people with interest outside their schoolwork ¨C family, friends, hobbies etc.

It is exciting to visit different places. As you travel, you will see beautiful sceneries typical of the region. Besides, you can meet and make friends with people of different colors and races. Today people are so fond of traveling that tourism has become one of the developing industries in most countries.
Recent years have seen a tendency in China that tourism is growing faster. According to a recent survey made by some experts, about 47% urban residents travel regularly, and 28% rural residents also make their tour across the country. The survey also shows that more people are interested in tourism, and will join the army in the future.
Facing this tendency, we can't help exploring some underlying factors that are responsible. In the very first place, with the policy of reform and opening up, Chinese people's living standard has greatly been improved, and therefore, most of them can afford to travel around. What's more, it is believed that people now take a more positive attitude to tourism. In addition, tourism facilities are becoming better and better. For example, transportation develops fast, and many scenic spots are available now.
Though there are still some problems with tourism, I personally believe that tourism should be playing a key role in our life. I also hope that our government will make policies to create a better environment for tourists.

Everyone has an experience they would rather forget. Some are embarrassing, some are moving, and some teach us a lesson. Here is a story of mine.

Last Sunday I went fishing. After setting up my fishing rod£¨µöÓã¸Í£© with bait£¨µöÓãµÄ¶ü£©, I sat down on the bank of the lake. But two hours later, I didn¡¯t catch any fish. I got very angry and began to pack up my stuff£¨ÊÕÊ°¶«Î÷£©, preparing to go back home.

Just then, I saw an old man sitting near me. To my surprise, his basket was full of fish, so I went over to him, wanting to know why. ¡°Excuse me, but how long have you sat here?¡± I asked. ¡°About four hours,¡± he answered. ¡°Four hours?¡± I could believe my ears. ¡°Yes. It¡¯s very important to be patient,¡± the old man said. ¡° Don¡¯t consider fishing a tiring sport. Just enjoy it.¡± Suddenly, I understand what he said. I must learn to be patient. Then I sat there and waited for fish patiently. I felt a fish touch the bait, but I didn¡¯t move and waited for the right moment to reel it in£¨¾íÊÕµöÓãÏߣ©. At last, I caught it. This made me very happy. In the following six hours, I caught over 10 fish.

On my way home, I thought what had happened on the bank. I gradually realized that the secret of success was patience.

Jackie is perhaps the most easily annoyed koala£¨¿¼À£©at the Featherdale Wildlife Park in southern Australia. All the koalas there are unhappy and complaining. You would be too if you were used to night activities and someone kept waking you up all day while you were trying to sleep it off. That¡¯s right¡ªsleep it off. The average koala is always half asleep because it feeds on the leaves of a special kind that makes it sleepy.

The reason Jackie and her fellow koalas are repeatedly awoken from their deep sleep is so they can be hugged and photographed by tourists£¬who make the trips to Featherdale and an increasing number of other national parks for just that special experience. Whatever department in the Aussie government in charge of such things is now moving to make the practice illegal£¬which is understandable. How would you react£¬my friend£¬if you were trying to sleep off a dozen times and some round£¬furry creature smelling of grass kept waking you?
