When you were looking for a reliable, honest auto mechanic(机修工),how did you find him? Before you went into that restaurant you recently tried, how did you know that it served great food?If you are like most people on the planet, you want to lower your risk of a big ugly surprise so you asked people you trust to refer to a business they trust. Marketers(营销人员)call this friend?to?friend recognition of a business “word?of?mouth”(口碑)advertising.

When you do a great job for your customer or a bad job, people are going to talk about your business. Unfortunately, because we humans seem to feel negative emotions more intensively(强烈地) than positive ones,we're more likely to tell more of our friends about bad experiences with a business than positive ones. Understand this:Customers believe their own experience. You can't make them believe that your company is wonderful when they felt they were treated badly.

So,to get positive word?of?mouth going for your business in this service?based economy, you've got to do a really outstanding job for everyone, exactly.

And when you do,you build a great reputation (名声). That takes time. But it forms a close link with your customers in a way that no advertising and no promotional(促销的)coupon(优惠券) ever could.

The good news is that because there are so many different businesses chasing after(追赶)your customers' money, people want to know whom they can trust. So people are going to be talking about you create a free sales force for your business—— an army of delighted customers who tell everyone that they know how good your company is to do business with. That's a great antidote (解药) to nonconfidence.

1.If you are like most people on the planet, you want to lower your risk of a big ugly surprise so you asked people you trust to refer to a business they trust.”(如果和这个星球上的大多数人一样,你想降低遇到倒霉意外的风险,那么你就会去问一个你信任的人他所信任的事物。)

2.you asked people you trust to refer to a business they trust. 结构:该句谓语结构为ask sb to do sth,you trust为定语从句修饰people;;they trust也是定语从句而其先行词为a business,那么该句句意就应为:那么你就会问一个你信任的人他所信任的事物。

3.Customers believe their own experience. You can't make them believe that your company is wonderful when they felt they were treated badly.”

4.A.service imperfection服务的瑕疵;B.service advertisement服务广告;C.customers' protection客户保护;D.customers' distrust顾客的不信任,根据语境可知,该名词所对应的主语That指代的是上文所提到的“people are going to be talking about you create a free sales force for your business—— an army of delighted customers who tell everyone that they know how good your company is to do business with”人们一定会谈论到你,那么就创造了一支免费推销大军——一支由兴高采烈的顾客组成的,迫不及待地想告诉所有人他们知道你公司的业务有多好的大部队。

During my free time one day, I wandered down a lonely path into the woods and sat against a tree. Then I saw one of the camp counselors approaching me. "Oh great," I thought, since counselors were always trying to cheer you up or make you laugh.

"Hey," he said, "mind if I have a seat?" I shrugged(耸肩). I wasn't going to encourage him, but I couldn't exactly stop him, either. He sat down alongside me and extended a hand. "I'm Gary," he said, "and you're Erica, right?" I nodded. "You don't exactly look like you're having a good time," he began.

I crossed my arms and gritted my teeth. "Look," I said, "I didn't want to come to camp, I don't like it, I'm not having fun, and it basically stinks." I glared at Gary.

"So there's nothing here at all for you, huh?" he asked.

"Nothing," I answered.

"Let me show you something," said Gary. He got up, and I followed him along the path until I heard a sound like a roaring freight train.

"What's that?" I asked.

"Wait and see," he replied, with a small smile.

When we rounded the corner, I couldn't believe what I saw. There was the biggest waterfall I could ever imagine, right in front of me. "Cool!" I said, and I could feel my eyes getting bigger and a smile tugging at my mouth.

"Still think there's nothing here for you?" asked Gary. "Because there's a whole lot more of this kind of 'nothing' around here."

I had to admit, the waterfall was impressive.

"Look," said Gary, "camp is what you make it. You can be sullen(阴郁的) and closed-minded and have a rotten four weeks, or you can take a look around you and see some of the incredible sights and appreciate the opportunity. It would be useless for me to try to make you have fun. You can only do that for yourself. But if you loosen up a little, you might actually have a good time." With that, he turned and walked away, leaving me on the path.

That night, by the campfire, I found myself singing along with everyone else. By the time the four weeks were up, I didn't want to leave. I'd seen some amazing things and made some great friends.

Beauty is where you find it. Life is what you make it. I think it's going to be a good year this year. I mean, I'm going to work to make it one. Maybe if I'm lucky, I'll get to go back to camp next year!
