I often quarrel about my mother over whether I can watch TV after

school. She holds view that senior three students have to make fully use of

every minute to work hard at their lessons. It seems to me that once I am

allowed to do that, I'll unable to control myself and forget all about my

study. She also thinks it is bad for my eye. But I really can't accept her

ideas. In my opinion, watch TV can set my mind at rest after a day's hard

works. Besides, it is important for us to know what had happened at home

and at abroad. Thus, we shouldn't be forbidden to watch TV.

My father and I stayed at the South Lake Hotel for a week when we visit Beijing
last month. It is in the downtown area, but it is easy to go to anywhere from the hotel by public transport. We lived in a comfortably double-room with a big bath. What I liked best were the free high-speed Internet connection in the room. I checked my email messages every day. I also shared for my friends many photos taking in Beijing. The food was wonderful with reasonable prices, and we enjoyed several local dish. It is such great hotel that I would recommend it to any friend of me who is going to Beijing.

Walter's goal in life was become a successfully doctor. He knew he had to finish high school first, so he puts his heart into his studies — in particular, biology, chemistry, or maths. Because he worked hard at these subjects, Walter became good at it. However, Walter forgot what he needed to master some other subjects besides those he had been chosen. As a result, Walter failed both English and Latin in the end of the second school year. But he had to repeat these subjects and he was almost unable to graduate like planned. Three years ago, I became a student in an ordinary school． Disappointing as I felt at the shabby campus and the poorly-equipped classroom, I find the teachers patient and considerate． However, I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in class． I decided to make the best for it． I worked hardly and got along well with teachers and classmates． Whenever I had difficulties, they were always available． Soon, I became one of the top student in my class, what greatly increased my confidence and I got more motivated．

My experience tells me that it is not what you are given but that how you use it that determine who you are．
