Dear Editor Zhang,

I am glad to write to you on English study . In my opinion, it is necessary for Chinese to learn English.

Firstly, English is the official language of some developed countries. If we want to make a rapid progress , we must know how to communicate with them. Without doubt , English can help us.

Secondly, China has developed a lot in recent years. In order to know the world and make  the world know China at the same time , We need to be able to communicate with the outside world in English.

Thirdly, the technology in China is not so advanced in some fields as that of some English-speaking countries. We should study English so as to learn from them.

In conclusion, we should learn English because it can benefit us in many ways.
