It's been a month since I came to this new school and I really want share with you some of the problems I have been experiencing.

As I tell you last time, I made three new friend here. We hang out together during lunch and after school. We've been spending a lot of time sing in karaoke bars. It's been three Saturdays now and it really costs me many. And I started to see this as a time¡ªwasting activity! In fact ,I don¡¯t like to go anymore, so I¡¯m afraid I¡¯ll lose their friendship. The clock struck eleven at night. The whole house was quiet. Everyone was in bed except me. Under the strong light, I looked sad before a huge pile of troublesome stuff that were called ¡°books¡±. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table, reading his book. His grandson admired him, trying to copy him in every way he could.

¡°So, you think it is useless? the grandpa said, ¡°Look at the basket.¡±

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time he realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean.

¡°Grandson, that¡¯s what happens when you read the book. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you¡¯ll be changed, inside and out.¡±
