4.Electricity shortage leaves Afghanistan in the dark.Electricity is in short supply in the Middle Eastern Nation of Afghanistan.Only 6percent of the country's residents have electric power,according to the Asian Development Bank,an organization that works to reduce poverty.
Some residents in Kabul received only 3hours of electricity a day last fall.Others received none.Kabul is the capital of Afghanistan."It's dark everywhere,"says city resident Gul Hussein."Some of our neighbours are using candles."

Despite receiving millions of dollars in international aid,the country's electricity shortages continue.Still,Afghans hope for a solution.One plan is to import,or bring in,power from the nearby country Uzbekistan.Afghan officials also spoke with U.S.president about the nation's need to make its own electricity.
"Life takes power,"says Jan Agha,a worker from Kabul."If you have electricity,life is good; but if there's no electricity,you go around like a blind man."

8.When I was young,I had an old neighbor named Dr.Gibbs.He didn't look like any doctor I'd ever known. He never shouted at us for playing in his yard.I remembered him as a neighbor who was nicer than anyone else in the neighborhood. When Dr.Gibbs was happy,he was planting trees. And his life's goal was to make it a forest.
Dr.Gibbs had some interesting theories about planting. He talked about trees that weren't watered would grow deep roots in search of water. So he never watered his trees. He planted an oak (橡树) and, instead of watering it every morning,he beat it with the rolled-up newspaper.I asked him why he did that, and he said it was to get the tree's attention.
Dr.Gibbs died a couple of years.Every now and then,I walk by his house and look at the trees that he planted twenty-five years ago. They're very strong now.
I planted a couple of trees a few years later.I watered them regularly and took good care of them.Whenever a cold wind blows, they shake their leaves and branches.
The funny thing about those trees of Dr.Gibbs was that difficulty seemed to help them in ways comfort and ease never could.

3.Many facts suggest that children are overweight and the situation is getting worse,according to the doctors. (31)F.
Some people blame(责备) the fact that we are surrounded (包围) by shops selling unhealthy,fatty foods,such as fried chicken and ice cream,at low prices.(32)C,then probably children would buy less take-away food.(33)A.I agree with this,because good eating habits begin early in life,long before children start to visit fast food shops.If parents often give their children fried chicken and chocolate rather than healthy food,they will go for sweet and salty foods,and children will find it hard to get rid of the habit.
There is a third reason for this situation.Children these days take very little exercise.They do not walk to school.When they get home,they sit in front of the television or their computers and play computer games.(34)E.What they need is to go outside and play active games or sports.
The above are the main reasons for this problem.(35)D,as well as forcing them away from fast food shops and bad eating habits.

A.There is another argument that blames parents for allowing their children to become overweight
B.Adults are becoming fatter and unhealthier too
C.If there were fewer of these restaurants
D.Therefore we have to encourage young people to be more active
E.Not only is this an unhealthy pastime(消遣),it also gives them time to eat more unhealthy food
F.I feel there are a number of reasons for this
G.It's a good idea to allow children to eat what they choose.
