Thank you for your email. Now I would like to tell you something about the extracurricular reading in our school. Most of the students in our school haven’t realized the importance of extracurricular reading, as a result, the time students devote to reading is too limited, about 20 minutes on average a day.

I think the reasons are various. Firstly, quite a lot of students are burdened with too much homework. Besides, others haven’t formed the reading habit. They would rather spend their spare time on TV or computer games.

Reading has many benefits, through which we can learn a lot about the world. Reading can help us think better and make our life more colorful. So it is quite necessary for students to take up reading and for the teachers to limit the amount of our homework so that we can have more time for extracurricular reading.
