I came across a article about a doctor named Lin Qiaozhi who was a specialist in women’s diseases. One of her books explained how to cut the death rate from having and caring for babies caught my eye. It was specially written for the women in the countryside where medical equipments and medical care were in shortage. Then I do some research by raising some questions about her. Farther reading made me to realize it was hard work and determine as well as her gentle nature which got her into medical school. And what made her succeed was her kindness and consideration. She often went lately at night to deliver a baby for a poor family. I was excited and wanted to carry her career.

I took part in a international English speech contest and win a prize. As a result, I offered a chance to visit Paris. Paris is one of my most favorite cities and I had dreamed of go there for a long time.

Firstly, I visited the magnificent Eiffel Tower. Then I went to the Louvre, that I enjoyed a lot of world-famous work, such as Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece Mona Lisa. I also enjoyed the sights of the Arch of Triumph, which is regarded for the symbol of France.

I also spent some time look around and experiencing the unique culture in Paris, which great enriched my life.

Last week our class voted on how to do for you class outing: visit the Singapore Zoo and go to the Night Safari(夜间动物园). We girls wanted to go to the zoo, but since we are in minority, we lost to the boys, that all wanted the safari. We got the admission rate for the students, which was great since I still had not enough money to buy a brochure about the park as well as something at the souvenir shops. I woke up the other day when hearing a phone call from taxi driver who had my friend's cell phone.My friend has apparently left it in the cab the night before.The driver had called the others,but I was the first one who answered the phone.It was a rainy morning,that for cab drivers is a very busy time.The cab driver asked him where he could give the cell phone for me.I asked him to go to the place where I lived.Then I quickly jumped out of bed,put on my cloth and told the cab driver I'd meet him on the corner of the street.

When I met the taxi driver,I thanked him for have such a kind heart.My friend recent moved here from another country and I can imagine how importance his cell phone is to him!

Once a man asked a painter to painting a picture for him. He told the artist he didn't want any shadows in the picture, just sunshine, but the artist did so. When the man saw the finishing picture, he was disappointing. Without shadows, everything in the picture looks flat and unreal. The point of the story is that we need both shadows and sunshine to have a completely picture, just as we need both rain and sun to have living world. People, too, needs both sadness and happiness. We often learn important lesson during sad times. So when we feel sad, we should try to stop and think about that we might learn from the experience.
