题目内容

【题目】There are the two simple words, “if” and “what”. These two words can be used in many sentences and questions by themselves, but if you put them together, it forms a serious question, “What if…?”

This question will bring you back to a certain time in your life when you made a choice. You may not be happy with that choice today and often think about why you did it, but you made the decision because it was the best choice at that specific moment in your life. Now, years later, you start to think about that specific choice you made. You mentally struggle with yourself and consider if you could choose again, what would you do? Would it be totally different?

I truly believe if you want something very much, you can do it and achieve it , because “Where there is a will, there is a way.” You can correct the mistakes of your decisions for the past, go out and find happiness in the right decisions for your future. It is never too late to do anything in life.

【答案】

This passage mainly tells us it is never too late to achieve our dreams so long as we have the determination, even though some wrong decisions may have been made before.

As for me, I believe in the old saying “Nothing is impossible.” No matter how many difficulties we might go through, we can overcome them if we don’t give up.

Harland Sanders, who quitted school and worked on a farm at 14, became a cook and dishwasher later. He did not achieve anything until he retired and used his small retirement check to start a new business at the age of 65. Now Harland’s business, Kentucky Fried Chicken, has expanded to all over the world. That man, who failed in everything he did, refused to be a loser. I really appreciate Harland’s courage and persistence. It was because he never gave up that he made a fortune. There is no doubt that we can equally succeed if we stick to our dreams.

【亮点说明】本文结构紧凑,层次分明,文中第一句This passage mainly tells us it is never too late to achieve our dreams so long as we have the determination, even though some wrong decisions may have been made before. 开门见山,精简的句式,让读者眼前一亮。而文中也也使用了大量的从句和短语,也为文章增色不少。
