I will write to her tomorrow.
Our school is here,and theirs is there. 本句中theirs=their school。
She was talking to herself. 初中阶段常用的短语有 teach oneself自学,dress oneself 自己穿衣,come to oneself 恢复知觉,enjoy oneself 过的快活, help oneself to 随便吃、随便用,make youself at home 不受约束,by oneself 独自地; 单独地,speak to oneself 自言自语
四、 指示代词有this, that, these, those等。 The weather in Beijing is colder than that in Guangzhou.
如: They love each other.
常见的不定代词有a11,both,each,every等,以及含有some-,any-,no-等的合成代词,如anybody, something,no one。 如:  --- Do you have a car? --- Yes,I have one. --- I don’t know any of them.
        七、 疑问代词有who,whom,whose,what和which等。
        八、关系代词有who,whom,whose,that,which,as等,可用作引导从句的关联词。

John Dalton was born in England in 1766. As a small child, John worked in the fields with his older brother, and helped his father in the cloth-making shop. Most poor boys at that time received no education, but John was lucky to attend a nearby school. John was a good student and loved learning. His teachers encouraged him to study many things.

When he was twelve, he opened his first school in a nearby town, but there was very little money. He had to close his school and work in his uncle’s field.

Three years later, he ran a school in Kendall, England with his brother and a friend. They taught many subjects. There, John studied the weather and the nature around him. He collected butterflies and snails. He did many other scientific tests.

In 1793, John moved to Manchester to teach at New College, and began observing the behavior of gases. He began to think about different elements (元素) and how they are made up of.

In 1808, Dalton published a book, A New System of Chemical Philosophy. His atomic masses were not all careful and exact, but they formed the basis for the modern periodic table

I told my friend Graham, "I often walk two miles from my house to the town centre. Unfortunately, there is a big hill on the way." He replied, "You should say 'fortunately’." He explained that I should be glad for the extra exercise that the hill gave.

I thought he was right. My attitude to the hill has now changed. As I approach the foot of the hill and prepare to climb, I tell myself that this hill will help me lose weight and get fit. This hill is my friend. I have a smile of satisfaction as I reach the top of the hill.

Problems are to be faced. We cannot achieve anything with an easy life. Helen Keller once wrote that "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experiences of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened ..."

Our attitude towards difficulties is of importance in life. From time to time, we all face problems, accidents and difficulties. We cannot choose the situation but we can choose our attitude toward the situation.

How can you change your attitude towards difficulties? Try these steps:1. Face the problem. Do not avoid it. 2. Take a positive attitude. 3. Imagine how you will feel when you solve the problem. 4. Develop an action plan for how to deal with it. 5. Smile.

Many great people like Helen Keller, took these steps to deal with their problems. They chose their attitude. They chose to be positive. They accepted the challenge. They won.

Exhausted, covered in mud and desperately hungry,a team of Swedish athletes sat down for a meal as they prepared to take on a dangerous 20-mile trek through the Ecuadorian rainforest.

As they opened their canned meat,a tired Mikael Lindnord noticed a miserable stray dog staring at him out of the corner of his eye.

Feeling sorry for him,he fed the dog a meatball and thought nothing of it,but as the team stood up to continue their race the animal started to follow them—and he didn’t stop.

As the group of four navigated the final two stages of the 430-mile Adventure Racing World Championship, the dog befriended them and was eventually given the name Arthur.

Every tiring task the team face,Arthur would do the same.He swam alongside them while they kayaked down rivers, dragged himself up hills during hikes and pulled through knee—deep mud during treks.

Even when the team tried to get rid of their new member out of concerns for his safety—he refused to leave. This meant when he was tired they stopped for a break and when he got stuck in the mud they pulled him out.

After six days the team finished the race, and the dog had suffered. They therefore decided to take him to a vet(兽医)while still in South America to have him checked out.

During that time Lindord thought to himself that after their experience, they could not leave Arthur,so he decided to adopt him and take him back to Sweden. He applied to the Swedish Board of Agriculture and was made to wait to see if his application was successful. After a tense few days, the team arrived at the airport with Arthur and boarded the plane with him back home.
