短语be known for而闻名,这里有插入语with a long history,主语是Chinese foods,谓语用复数形式,时态是一般现在时,故be动词用are,故填are

这里考查it作形式主语的句式:it+be+过去分词+that从句,it是形式主语,真正的主语是that从句,即eating fish will help your wishes come true in the year to come,故填it

故填which。

主语是dish,短语be made of “由…

He was asleep with his head on his arms.

With John away, we've got more room.

He lay in bed with his head covered.

With winter coming on, it's time to buy warm clothes.

5)with+宾语+to do (不定式做宾补有“将来”的含义)

I can't go out with all these dishes to wash.

Today's personal computers are very different from the huge machines that were born during World War II-and the difference isn't only in their size. By the 1970s, these early PCs could not perform many of the tasks that today's computers can. Users could only do mathematical calculations(数学计算) and play simple games. Today PCs are used in many different kinds of ways. At home and at work, we use our PCs to do almost everything. It is nearly impossible to imagine modern life without them.

The earliest computers were not "personal" in any way: They were large and expensive, and they required a team of engineers and other experts to keep them running. One of the first and most famous of these, the Electronic Numerical Integrator Analyzer and Computer (ENIAC), was built at the University of Pennsylvania. ENIAC cost 500, 000, weighed 30 tons and took up nearly 2, 000 square feet of floor space.

ENIAC and other early computers proved that the machines were worth so much money, space and manpower they needed. For example, ENIAC could solve in 30 seconds a problem that could take a team of human "computers" 12 hours to complete. At the same time, new technologies were making it possible to build smaller computers.

But one of the most important of the inventions that make way for the PC revolution was the microprocessor(微处理器). Microprocessors were the size of a nail. They could run the computer's programs, remember information and manage data(数据) all by themselves.

These new ideas made it cheaper and easier to produce computers than ever before. As a result, the smaller, cheaper "microcomputer"-soon known as the "personal computer"-was born. Today, portable computers, smart phones and ipads allow us to have a PC with us wherever we go.

1What's mainly talked about in the first paragraph? ______

A.An even more relaxing lifestyle without PCs.

B.PCs can be made full use of to do everything.

C.Differences between modern and early PCs.

D.The difficult situation of PCs being born.

2What do we know about the earliest computers? ______

A.It was easy to control them.B.They took up too much room.

C.Nobody could afford one.D.They were built by universities.

3Why does the writer take ENIAC for example? ______

A.To predict high technology will make computers smaller.

B.To show computers are really smarter than human beings.

C.To explain why computers could deal with any problem.

D.To prove spending money on early computers was meaningful.

4Which of the following makes the biggest contribution to microcomputers? ______

A.Microprocessors.B.Programs.C.Money.D.Imagination.

When I was a kid, the thing I enjoyed most about New Years Eve was trying to stay awake until midnight. 1 However, I usually fell asleep before the New Year arrived. It wasn’t until my 10th birthday that I reached the finish line and was able to cheer with the rest of the family. When I woke up the next morning, my mom asked me if I wanted to make a New Year’s resolution(决心要做的事).

4 Kids make resolutions to get along better with others or to do their homework right away.

Utah Lake is, in a word, disgusting. The State of Utah has worked with many partners and spent millions of dollars in an attempt to restore Utah Lake. It has indeed produced some active effects. However, due to the wastewater getting into itthis body of water is rich in nutrient and home to water bloom. Overfishing and the introduction of invasive species have only made the problem worse. In the summer of 2016500 people in Utah complained about their headaches, skin rashes and discomfort after swimming in the lake.

The Utah Lake Restoration Project is headed by Parker. He imagines a beautiful lake dotted with man-made islands where a community could be built. Parker frequently goes to Capitol Hill to push for the proposal of the comprehensive lake restoration. Parker follows his rules "big ideas are worth approaching"as the project calls for lake digging, the creation of islandsthe removal of invasive species to restore the habitats of native plantsfish and so on.

Speaking of the Utah Lake Restoration ProjectBen Holcomb said, "It is not quite in line with reality.” He added"Despite impressive computer models and the current project report the Utah Lake Restoration Project lacks the actual field research to show that this project will have a positive effect on the lake's ecosystem.”

When asked how the public would help beautify Utah Lake, the lake's official workers suggested picking up garbage. However, it has a greatly limited effect on the overall health of the lake. Parker's plan may seem like the state's best chance to restore Utah Lake, but in reality the Utah Lake Restoration Project lacks the facts necessary for this sort of proposal. The State of Utah should propose some suggestions for the revision of the plan and offer the Utah Lake Restoration Project the access necessary to conduct research which could be compared with their theoretical findings. Only then can the State of Utah make an educated decision on behalf of people and resources.

C.Parker's plan needs some field research and adjustment.

D.Local people should take responsibility for saving Utah Lake.
